I remember reading that nowadays due to all the locks and dams it’s practically impossible for them to make it all the way back up to St. Louis, but still doable somewhere by Cape Girardeau. Think I remember reading something in the early 2000’s about one being caught by fisherman down that way or a bit further south by a boat of fishermen.

If you want to catch a Bull Shark (or Tiger, Black tip, Sandbar or other species) simply take a trip to the Padre Island National Seashore south of Corpus Christi Tx.

We used to see some big ones just cruising down the beach in 2 feet of water. I had lots of those Blacktips steal speckled trout off my stringer while wading the surf. That will get your attention. Heard there was a 13" foot 7"  Tiger caught down there this past weekend.

Here is a report from the Texas coast just north of Padre Island from this past weekend...

Well darn. I could’ve sworn there was some barrier mentioned. No other similar blocking structures such as locks either below STL?

Nope last one is Alton.  We ship up and down from the gulf via barge so I’m pretty sure we would notice one😆

Guess I didn’t remember things right then. I guess Stl is where they’re likely not to make it past. Think the incident I thought happened in the 2000’s was maybe the Rush Island one from 95.

Even then, a shark if they were so inclined and could live long enough could make it all the way up to the Minnesota headwaters of the Mississippi as all 29 dams have locks they could get in to navigate up past the dams.
