Fishrman Posted July 17, 2021 Posted July 17, 2021 Fished out of Viola today in our club derby. Fished to Baxter and back. Had Sprint with me today and we had a good day for July. Both had limits his weighed 12.8 and mine 12.4. All caught on spinner, buzzer and plopper. Caught a lot of fish today and lost a few. Really good day in July. dtrs5kprs, Zulu, dpitt and 3 others 6
Bill Babler Posted July 18, 2021 Posted July 18, 2021 What did it take to win the derby? You boys put the hammer down, had to have been a blast catching them power fishing. Even the deep fish are coming in shallow now with some huge catches on spoons in the 18' to 26' range. Lots of LM on the spoons mixed in with the walleye. What was the breakdown between jaws, K's, and LM? Thanks for the report, being layed- up here at the house I'm pretty board. dtrs5kprs 1 http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
Fishrman Posted July 18, 2021 Author Posted July 18, 2021 14lb and some change won the club. I saw no smallies weighed in, only a handful of K's, most all were largemouth. Sprint had to tell me to put the plopper down mid morning and pick up the buzzer, they were eating it better. He was spot on in his assessment. When they bit it they had it. Some walleye were caught by a couple guys on spoons, lots of short walleye according to them. Forgot to mention earlier, did catch a few on horny toad. Had trolling batteries go down about 9:30, thought well got to replace batteries. Got home plugged her in, 2 banks not charging. This is the second one I've had go bad on my 2020 Phoenix. So I guess I'll be taking it back for number 3. Anyway, rant over. Good luck when you get to go. Quillback and dan hufferd 2
Bill Babler Posted July 18, 2021 Posted July 18, 2021 Had the same deal happen to the Minn Kota charger that came with my boat. Took it over to Battery Outfitters and they installed a Genius. Had it 6 months and it went out. They put in another one and its worked fine the last two years. Also had a Genius on my trout boat. It went out but Battery Outfitters put me a new replacement on, no charge and it has been fine the last 4 yrs. In speaking with the local Pro's most don't have on board chargers, but big plug ins. I'm hearing really good things however about the Power Pole charge system. No bad stuff at all except the price. Bill Beck always told me the biggest piece of junk on any boat was an on board charger and he never had one, that I can remember. http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
Sprint21fter Posted July 19, 2021 Posted July 19, 2021 Over the last 2 years I've lost more fish/money with fish not staying buttoned with the plopper. It was a different type of bite they were just "slurp" bites not explosive bites. It's all between the ears my friends! Had a blast with Fishrman yesterday! Learned a new trick with the spinner bait for sure! m&m and Quillback 2
