My son bought this and we reinforced the transom and tuned it up put in new water pump and changed lower unit grease. But with change in his job and new baby on the way he doesn’t have have time to use it so he’s wanting to sell it. The boat is a 1973 Fiber King Cobra and the motor is 1972 Johnson 50hp. We have had it on the water a few times and it runs out good. He’s wanting to get $2000AE592F2D-B74C-4A95-9460-6C2B3118EFA9.jpeg

Toss a few more pics up, may get some takers.

I love the stick steer, up front controls.  Works well on moving waters.

FWIW, in 1973 -75, this was goal and hope. As a newly married guy still in college, I did not buy. Older impulse still tempts me.

I owned a stick steer boat and it has a lot of advantages:

  • No space is taken up with the console and seats only used for traveling.
  • Better visibility sitting up front.
  • When you want to fish just stand up and put the trolling motor in the water and sit back down.
  • And I think it is easier to pull a fish out of the water.

And, you are always in the front of the boat.  I have a Panfish 16 jet.  Up front is the best place to read the water when running the rivers.
