wily
We drew in Saturday the 27th...any advice? I know all you duck killers are in a super secret club...but help a brother out. We drew #11 in the pre draw...I assume we’ll go north unless one of our fellow forum friends steer us another direction...
jdmidwest
11 pick on an area in the end of Nov should be a killing trip. Look at kill charts, plot the winds and weather, and choose wisely. You should do well. Never been to 4 rivers, but look for flooded corn is always a good show. "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. Ryan Miloshewski
Cover in Units 1 an 2 are pretty bad. Some pools are unhuntable unless you have a layout boat or Invisiman. I've only hunted Units 3 and 4 this year and it's ok, but those are also the walk in areas. I drew in last year at Four Rivers and the cover was atrocious. wily
Due to COVID...have to wait outside for the draw. So don’t forget your jacket like I did. Draw went smooth...but slower. it was a big crowd. 22 groups for 19 spots I think we got #11. I wanted to go north but Jake wanted to go to 3...Not as much water in 3 as last year...and cover is worse. not near as many ducks on the refuge as late last year but I’m sure the numbers will continue to increase. Big groups of teal dive bombed us a couple times in the morning. the mallards didn’t work the decoys. Not very many people hunting by the clubhouse after noon so the birds had the run of the place. we took our lunch and made a day of it. It was a nice day for a nap....pretty slow til about 3...but a lot of birds late we shot bad...and I said we need to shoot some bluerocks to practice...Jake said they won’t help...they’re nothing like hitting a duck while laying down in the mud...covered in grass and half asleep just the two of us went. 4 teal and one mallard nomolites, BilletHead and Greasy B
