Members DavidB Posted December 5, 2021 Members Posted December 5, 2021 I have several Duckett rods, and really like their light weight. The actions are a little softer than their rating, but as long as you're aware of that, they're good rods with this exception: Champ's observation about the micro guides hit home with me. I've had to replace several with a rod builder on Toledo Bend. He told me that he replaces twice as many Duckett guides as for all other road brands combined.

To prevent the problem of micros slipping out of the winding and breaking, I do two things. I buy the titanium Recoil guides and I tie them on with a Forhan locking wrap. ness, Bushbeater and DavidB 3
Gavin Posted December 5, 2021 Posted December 5, 2021 The locking wrap helps on all guides. They won’t come off w/o taking a razor blade to the wrap. rps 1
gabe Posted December 11, 2021 Posted December 11, 2021 I had a Duckett Crankin 7’ rod but it had the micro guides. Rod was ok but hate the tiny micro guides. Sold it and don’t have anything but Falcon and Dobyns. Both are great to work with any warranty and exchanges. Champ188 1
