Terrierman Posted November 28, 2021 Posted November 28, 2021 Grey mallards are not stinkin. You are hard core. Even back then I never picked my birds. But to each his own. Those ones are nice and clean. Enjoy!

So easy to just pluck and single breast then fillet the sides off of. Fatty skin equals flavor. Gavin Posted November 29, 2021 Posted November 29, 2021 Good shooting! Those look clean enough to roast whole. BilletHead 1
jdmidwest Posted November 29, 2021 Posted November 29, 2021 You should have lead that one Woody a little better and you would not have shot the breast up. Nice job. That extra fat under the skin adds to the flavor of the birds. I always breasted the junk birds, mallards and woody always get the rub down. Gaddies always eat well without diving for it, they have a good flavor too. BilletHead 1 "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. jdmidwest Posted November 30, 2021 Posted November 30, 2021 Zero hunts can be good too. Lots of time to visit. And figure out what you could do better. "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. Thompson
