The calm before the wind

Got out yesterday morning, fished downstream from Big M.  A little breezy near the launch, but glass downstream.

Had a little early action in the depths, caught a couple of spots on a white tube on a 3/8 oz jighead, bouncing it off the bottom.  The deep fish left the area not long after I got there, so I hit a chunky rock bank with timber and fished the Ned in 20 FOW.  Caught a couple there and even got one on a top water.

After that, fished quite a few other places, couldn't find fish, couldn't get bites.  Put the boat on the trailer at noon and headed home.

Had 6 spots, 3 were keepers.

Quillback, it appears the fishing is a hit and miss kind of time right now. Spending a few hours fishing on a mild December day has to feel pretty good though.

I’m glad to hear about the tubes.  I’ve been thinking about them but haven’t used one yet.  They were my go to bait before I started using Elaztech worms.  I just haven’t been able to put them down but I am going to go to the garage and tie a tube on right now for tomorrow’s trip.  I believe that I will tie on a white one.  Thanks for the confidence factor.

Nice Jeff! My last fishing trip on Sat was a bust. So I'm glad someone was catching 👍
