This morning was very mild temps and the shad started out on the surface. The shad were flickering on top at daylight. I found a good group of fish around shad/trees in 34 to 42 FOW and the action was steady for an hour prior to the sun getting bright (approx 8AM). The swimbait worked extremely well because of surface chasing and several fish were using the upper water column. The swimbait produced several nice LM prior to 8AM. The better LM came in 20-25 FOW where they had the shad pushed toward the bank.

The ice jig ( 5/8oz ) worked good and produced mainly K's and a few good smallmouth. WT 56

Look at the quality of the picture on that HDS unit.  Lowrance owns 2D technology and the down image is also state of the art.

Look at the flasher on the extreme right side of the screen. You can pretty much see every fish in that school real time.

Thanks Doc. Wonderful pictures of fish and how ya did it

Good report, Dock. Thanks for sharing.
I'm going back to Lowrance just as soon as I can. My Humminbird 998s don't show HALF of the detail of those Lowrance units. I run the bow unit on 2D 99% of the time coz I'm just old fashioned that way.

I do wonder if the built-in transducer in my 8-year-old Fortrex trolling motor has become weak or damaged over the years.
