Dec 30, Indian Creek

Put in the water about 10 AM and fished until 3:30.  

Started off really slow, threw the Rock Crawler for an hour without a bite.

Went back into Indian and fished the trees with a Ned rig and finally started picking up some fish, but most were dinky 10-11 inch smallmouth.  Caught a couple that were close to the 15" mark, but not quite.  For the most part they were fairly shallow 5-15 feet.

Decided to throw the Crawler again out in the main basin, picked up a couple of keeper sized largemouth, which is unusual, it is usually pretty much a smallmouth show once you get away from the trees and docks, but I'll take them especially on a slow day like today.

This will be my last day of fishing in 2021, Happy New Year!

Thanks for all of the reports lately. Good to see you’ve had some luck. Duck season for me currently, but ready to get after it starting in February. I fished some this fall targeting smallmouth and caught some small ones, but it was pretty slow. I’m fairly new to the lake, but seemed like fall was tough fishing for me.

Some nice green trout @Quillback! That first one was a chunky fish for sure. Can't wait to see the first fish of 2022!

I hear ya, someone needs to start a 1st fish of 2022 thread.

Fall is tough for fishing, September is always a tough month for me.  Seems like winter hasn't started yet, but that will change tomorrow.  But heck we're only 2 months away from March!
