Ryan Miloshewski Posted January 24, 2022 Posted January 24, 2022 My Ross Animas is top notch. For a cheaper model, you really cannot beat an Echo. I also like their fly rods, too. I have a couple of Lamson's and they just aren't that great to me as far as quality is concerned. Fight fish ok, just cheaply made and not hardy. Their new line seems better, though. Just haven't used 'em. “To those devoid of imagination a blank place on the map is a useless waste; to others, the most valuable part.”--Aldo Leopold
fshndoug Posted January 24, 2022 Posted January 24, 2022 Heck my Lamsons and Waterworks are fine reels. I have caught many 20 lb plus kings on them without fail. Also they work pretty good on nice trout. Never any problems. I know some guys that could mess up a steal ball with a rubber mallet . snagged in outlet 3 1

A tiny O-ring placed under the dial will fix that. Gives it just enough friction to stay where you last set it. FYI.... The dial screw has LEFT HAND THREADS ! ☝️ (righty=loosey/ lefty=tighty)
Foghorn Posted January 26, 2022 Posted January 26, 2022 Hey Wrench, saw those Piscifun reels on sale on their website for 15% off. Crazy cheap as the one I was looking at in a 3/4 weight reel was $38 and change. It was the "Sword" series. fishinwrench 1

At that price I'm tempted to snatch up a few more, even though I have nothing to put them on....or put on them.
