jdmidwest
April will be here soon. This round of frozen moisture will prep the ground. Meanwhile, here is a do it yourselfer that made a mushroom bucket and tells you how to grow Oysters. Wonder if it would work around here. Oysters are pretty tasty. https://www.rootsimple.com/2022/02/a-low-tech-experiment-in-growing-oyster-mushrooms/ BilletHead and nomolites 2 "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. Maverickpro201
Interesting, I plan on doing/trying some morels and oysters this year myself. Mainly due to the woods are getting harder and harder for me to go looking for them. Have plenty of woods for a back yard and will try and get some started this spring
jdmidwest
That bucket idea looks pretty simple. I know some have tried the store bought logs on here also. Johnsfolly
We have had success with store bought logs with shitake and oyster mushrooms. Very easy. It's been a while so have no idea on cost of the logs. We also tried putting maitake spores into oak logs and planting the logs. Didn't ever get a flush at all 😒. Ii like this bucket deal. May have to give it a try.
Terrierman
We inoculated two logs with shitake spores two years ago. Still nothing.☹️

jdmidwest
Laundry basket seems pretty simple. North Spore has several varieties.
