In 300 FOW. That is the perfect description--if you hooked the sheet of plywood in the middle. While I tend to remember the really big fish I've lost, I do not remember big halibut, probably because it is work, and I am not fond of that. There was one day where I didn't drop my gear down to the bottom simply because I didn't want to hook another halibut. The largest halibut I've landed was guesstimated at 190 pounds by the skipper.
