bologna Posted April 10, 2022 Posted April 10, 2022 Caught some huge females at Orleans today. I bet the rain over the next few days gets the spawn started. So full of eggs they looked like they were going to pop. I tried above Taylor with no luck, couldn't get a bite until I got near Orleans. Johnsfolly, BilletHead and Krazo 2 1
bwcballer10 Posted April 11, 2022 Posted April 11, 2022 Congrats on catching some nice ones this weekend! This rain may finally push some fish up to the s-curves and above.
bologna Posted April 11, 2022 Author Posted April 11, 2022 Very possible, it was super clear water above Taylor, you could see the bottom most of the way up. The rain should change that. Looks like the walleye have mostly left now, I didn't see anyone catch one.
bwcballer10 Posted April 12, 2022 Posted April 12, 2022 Yeah I went to Orleans Sunday morning and you could see probably 5 foot deep or more. That is way too clear for the little sac. The gauge at 215 hit 3000 cfs after the rain (it was 200 or so before the rain) yesterday. So it will definitely be muddied up. I'm just hoping it will be clear enough to catch some fish Friday after round 2 tomorrow. I am planning on floating 215 to Taylor. trythisonemv 1
bologna Posted April 12, 2022 Author Posted April 12, 2022 Good luck, I hope it slows down enough to float for you. Let me know how it goes. trythisonemv 1
curtisce Posted April 20, 2022 Posted April 20, 2022 Not Little Sac but some information. Fished Monday out of greenfield starting aaround noon. Went down lake throwing SB and CB , water was stained. Caught a few bass and 2 nice whites. Went up Turnback around 3PM. ran my 19ft bass boat up to the first ripple just above where you turn form heading west to heading south. Water had a green color probably 3 ft viz. Tried clouser on fly rod mostly found the bottom or debris. anything hittng the bottom got stuck. threw a small jerk bait caught a white first cast but that was it on that. worked that east west strech with minimal luck. Below the first turn started getting bit and saw fish on LS. Silver Flicker Shad worked best. Not hot and heavy action but consistetn. Lots of short strikes. Ended with 5 keepers form river 2 down lake. 5of 7 were females not huge but keeper size, threw a few small ones back. WT 56 The answer may not lie at the bottom of a glass, but you should always check
Dutch Posted April 20, 2022 Posted April 20, 2022 Good to know. Did you motor up or drive around to CC?
