Bill Babler Posted May 10, 2022 Posted May 10, 2022 Just a quick hearsay report from a couple of guys that fished today. Ie, guide buddies. Both reported multiple fish per location, with all of course on the little swimbait. Long gravel run outs at the mouths of spawning coves. All 3 black bass species and 50/50 mix of pre and post spawn. Some topwater early on lucky locations, mostly cove mouths suspended fish. Said they had their boats in 30 plus and the fish on the bottom and suspended in the 12’ to 20’ range. Said they could see them on FFS Also got a report of Shad in the back of some pockets with chasers, but not real reliable on this report. These guys are pulling in on points, turning on the FFS and looking. If they don’t see them they don’t fish. One guy mentioned his trip didn’t fish for over an hour till he found them just riding and looking. He said if you look you will find groups. His best spot they caught 17, mostly keeps. Just reports from friends, as I’m off the water with the truck in the shop Good Luck big c, Quillback, Dock-in-it and 3 others 6 http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
rps Posted May 11, 2022 Posted May 11, 2022 Of course, I no longer live there and can't cross the street to see how high or how dirty. If high and dirty like 2011, fish the top water bite early, and then switch to finesse worms and neds just outside of the old bank line. (8 to 20 feet). Walleye will be on the inside bend flats at the same locations and depth, and will be suckers for the Lindy rig. Bass too. Don't forget the picnic table pattern. Quillback 1

Maybe 2017, when high water could have impacted the spawn. They could also just be in different places. What really strikes me as odd, given how, what, and where I fish...I caught precisely zero bluegill, green sunfish, etc. Had very few "perch" bites overall. Caught exactly two gogs. That's funny, I haven't fished TR since the rise, but I was catching a few gills and a few crappie on the 1/16 head and cut Zinker. No gogs however, I have never caught a gog in TR. dtrs5kprs 1

Yea we only caught 2 or 3 google eye and 1 perch all week. Normally we will catch 3-4 google eye each day. We also did not catch any walleye, catfish or crappie (normally we catch a few of those) dtrs5kprs and Quillback 2
