EVs have an amazing hole shot off the line.  They are pure acceleration.  I am sure there are different size motors and different ones accelerate differently, but still pretty hot off the line.  But S I say several times a week there ain't no free lunches.  Batteries, solar panels, wind generators, price, in the end society will have to decide what is more important and act accordingly while working to improve them.  Personally I have no problems with wind and solar generation and electric cars but ya gotta accept dead birds, inefficient solar panels when super hot or in inclement weather. Electrical usage is not going to go down around the world, question is how do you feed that usage.

Oneshot I bet you have seen more EVs than you realize.  We have had some at the lake, one of the issues is re charging them.  To do it quickly requires a high amperage charging station which there aren't any around there.  Standard electrical pedestals of 30 or 50 Amp will do it but takes a lot longer, and if they don't have the proper charger will constantly trip breakers.  Again ain't no free lunch.

There sure isn't.

Hydro or nuclear is the only feasible answer with current tech. Wind requires flat land and lots of real estate, plus nobody wants to leave near them. Solar is getting close to paying for itself, but I still don't think it's there yet in many areas without subsidies. If you're handy, you can source used panels, install them yourself, and the payoff will come a lot sooner. But not many are willing to do that.

And the out put of solar panels decline over time, fair bit of toxic waste comes with building them as well, maybe not as bad as with ethanol production not entirely sure there.  Plus a computer controll of some sort of make it all work correctly.  No one thing is an answer short of a major technology breakthrough in solar panels, charging and storing the electricity etc.  Personally I like the "old style" windmills.  They look cool and nobody ever complained about them.  Not much for producing power but hey they look cool.  I suspect the time will come when as a society we will have to begin removing things from the grid and powering them via solar or wind separately.

The use of fossil fuels as an energy source was never a problem........Until when?

It became a problem when an imbalance occured.  Too many piglets sucking on the teets, and then pooping everywhere.

the answer isn't "Finding a better way to feed them".    The answer is "Controlling how many are here to feed" !

Regardless of the method you develop to continue feeding a constantly growing population..... those piglets are all gonna poop, and eventually die.   Whaddya gonna do with all that poop and dead bodies.....that take longer to decay than it does to produce?

It is a very sad and unpleasant thought, but the very best thing that we all could do to benefit the earth and the remainder of mankind..... is to limit our number of offspring and die sooner.  If we could just do THAT then all the problems the world is faced with would rectify themselves.

My biggest pet peeve are these enormous families where all the kids have to do without, wear hand-me-downs, lack parental attention, and are not getting fed well because they have too many brothers and sisters.  That scenario is exactly what is going on in the world now.
