those will be a huge hit on the coast.  Imagine going 20 miles offshore and only spending $35 in fuel.

We saw lots of people using them in the bays and offshore when we lived on North Padre Island.

Check out this article about a guy that goes by the name of Jet Ski Brian. He has taken his from Miami to the Bahamas, which is around a 100-mile trip one way.

20 years ago there was a guy that regularly rain up the James on one with a couple of rods hanging off it. And I see people every year at the beach using them to fish. Not a bad option.

They don’t have squat on these dudes racing 1000 hp diesel canoes with tiller handles…

I saw lots of those homemade long tails when I was working in Warri, Nigeria which was at the delta of the Niger river. Those guys were hell bent to not let any of the others beat them.

As Henry Ford once said... auto racing started 5 minutes after the second car was built. Same goes for jet boats, long tails, hydroplanes, airplanes, etc, etc, etc.

It's always refreshing to see posts from people who think they have more right to the water than the other guy.

When one activity precludes all others on a given body of water, the offending activity needs to be curtailed.  Hope you are feeling very very refreshed.  Call me crazy but I feel exactly the same way about street racing.

I'm speaking in generalities and you're speaking of yourself.  No surprise there.

I'm also not surprised that you want to put words in my mouth.  I said what I said and you read something totally different.

It's apparent that you believe your bona fides give you the right to bully other posters on this and other forums.

Try to have a conversation sometime instead of just throwing your weight around.

Sorry...it seems to me that you were pretty specific that you think we are wanting to ban things we don't like just because we don't like them.  I gave you my reasons why I think some uses are incompatible with every other use.  You just repeated what you'd said before. Can't have much of a conversation if you're just going to repeat your statement and ignore what I actually said.  There are a lot of things people do on Ozark streams that I don't like.  I don't advocate banning most of them.  And I gave you my bona fides to show that I'm not just some elitist paddler who hates all jetboats.

big jet, little jet, canoe, deepV, kayak...It all comes down to courtesy and showing some respect for the resource and other people.

As someone once said before the concrete block hit him: "Can't we all just get along?"
