ollie Posted October 24, 2022 Posted October 24, 2022 Well, you have to experience the white bass run in the spring time. Fun times when you get on them. Non stop action sometimes. feather n fin 1 "you can always beat the keeper, but you can never beat the post" There are only three things in life that are certain : death, taxes, and the wind blowing at Capps Creek!

Thank you good sir. Another note. I just read their are trout in Hickory Creek somewhere near Neosho. Is this accurate? https://woodlandclearing.wordpress.com

Is this accurate? That is true. Hickory creek is a white ribbon trout stream. It should get stocked periodically from March to Nov. It is a city creek. Don't expect pristine conditions of a mountain trout stream. feather n fin 1

ollie Posted October 25, 2022 Posted October 25, 2022 Give me a text before you come up this way for Hickory. I can save you time on that one. And yes, BH beat me to it! I was referencing Spring river. Although Elk and Neosho experience the same white bass run. Just not in the same proportions. I suspect I will try to get over that way in the next month or so. I just did some google work on the Spring and had no idea that so much water around these parts are fed by springs. is there wadeable water? It appears so, as it starts out smaller water near Verona and onward. There is a crazy amount of flow by the time it gets toward the twin bridges. When you guys speak of the white bass run, are you meaning in those areas at the confluence or in the case of the Elk where it runs into the Lake? I have much to learn about the area for sure. LOL I much prefer wading and am not a boat guy--other than floating trout waters west and east. https://woodlandclearing.wordpress.com

Below 10c to twin Bridges as they gather. check out the Neosho River from twin Bridges upstream too although it can get really muddy and stay that way longer than the Spring River. feather n fin 1 "We have met the enemy and it is us", Pogo If you compete with your fellow anglers, you become their competitor, If you help them you become their friend" Lefty Kreh " Never display your knowledge, you only share it" Lefty Kreh "Eat more bass and there will be more room for walleye to grow!"
