SplitG2 Posted October 23, 2022 Posted October 23, 2022 Fished yesterday and early this morning. Caught a total of 3 fish. 2 keepers and one short. All small mouths. Rage Craw, Ned rig and a rock crawler. I started on the main lake and found fish but good luck getting them to bite anything. I can usually catch some deep with a spoon, drop shot or little george but all they did was look. I moved shallow with a big swim bait and had one really good LM follow it out of the shade of a beached dock but no luck. Threw a buzzbait shallow all the way in the back of a cove and watched another really good LM casually come up and grab the legs of the toad. I watched the whole thing and waited for her to take it in before setting the hook but she just swam away until she let go. I normally use trailer hook but didn’t this time. I’d guess both fish we’re 4lbs each. It was good to get out but man is it tough. And, I caught another fish passing a hook. 3rd one I’ve caught in the last few years. I’ll post pics shortly. cheesemaster, Dock-in-it, grizwilson and 3 others 6

Champ188 Posted October 23, 2022 Posted October 23, 2022 I've always found the combination of fall, low water and bright skies just about impossible to overcome on that lower end. Then again, I'm mostly a river rat, so what do I know?
