What is a firetiger jig?  I think the plan is to troll these also.

firetiger is a combo color that combines chartreuse green with black and/or orange.

BTW, pro walleye anglers troll spinnerbaits effectively.

As noted in a earlier post on the Clouser fly with the blade and swivel that Glen talked about.  Material list: swivel is a roller swivel from Jann's Netcraft size 14  Size #0 Colorado blade for a small Clouser and a # 0 fine split ring or a # 1 Colorado  blade for a little larger Clouser size 4 hook to a size #2 hook. I use 15-20 lb'  big game line as a connection for the split ring and the roller swivel. Line goes through the split ring. I use a Gamakatsu B10s in Size #6,4,2 or A Mustad 34007 stainless steel #2 or #4

I'm always a sucker for the need to buy more stuff (which is why I have to sell more of it), so I stopped by Everhart's in Clinton two days ago. They have most of what is needed  for Wrench's fly and for far less than Jann's or online. I almost bought a bag of #12 swivels for four or five bucks--and there was at least 100 swivels in it. Same with blades--really good prices. The only problem is that they were out of the swivel size I was after and the blades. Sigh. That's why I priced Jann's. After that sticker shock, I went to one of my fave online stores-- Angler's Workshop and found better prices.  I"m going to hit Everhart's tomorrow as my Hobby Lobby fix today didn't quell the desire to buy stuff.  Sigh.

I think I need an intervention.

I was at a doctor's appointment this morning, and right across the street from the hospital was Everharts... so I couldn't help myself. I ended up with a 100-pack of #12 swivels, a 100-pack of #1 Colorado blades and two packs of very small split rings. They are still out of the #10 swivels I was after, but I noticed a bunch of #0 blades in Colorado and willow shapes. And I've not started on the gold-finish blades yet.

How many of these twinkle-butt Clousers can a person use?

You may have gotten a little carried away

I started last year with 6 in the box......and I still have 4 😅

Nevertheless, if you feel like you might OD on them I'll buy some from ya.

Oh, and the proper name is "Lil'George Clouser".  😁

Do these things work? I've got a handful & absolutely no idea how to fish them.

They work - when they don't hang up. They were designed for three methods: cast and rip, vertical jigging, and swim bait style. Tom Mann, the owner of the company that made them, caught a huge string on Lake Eufala, Alabama, and said he caught them on these. If you cast and rip, fish them on a clean bottom long gravel roll off. Vertical jigging in pole timber works, but don't try to move from one tree to the next with the tm. As a swim bait, there are many better options.

I always have one tied on when I am spooning; they can be counted down and horizontal jigged or straight retrieved in the desired depth range at various speeds to good effect, but I don’t use them exclusively - I typically alternate them with a selection of other baits.

The 1/4oz. model is a white bass/hybrid killer from now until March.

You can cast it a mile, then do a hop & drop (on a tight line) retrieve, until you find a school......Then milk them for all their worth.    Aside from using Livescope I don't know of a faster way to find White bass when they are in water deeper than 10ft.

The hooks that come on them are junk though.  Swap them out for something stickier, or else your bite to hookup ratio will suffer. 👍
