February advice.

I am strictly a fly fishing guy and this will be the first February in awhile I'm not chucking meat. I'm bring my dad and grand dad along whom dont fly fish  and was curious if anyone is having any luck dragging stick baits. I want to make memories with them out on the water but Im stupid with it comes to conventional fishing. Weird I know LOL  Any one want to give me some advice?

Advice tip #1.  Don't "drag" those stickbaits.    Rip'em and pause 'em.    The closer they are to the boat, the shorter the pause.   👍 

Advice tip #2.  A dark colored Marabou jig will save a slow day.  You literally can't fish it wrong.

Ultralight and jigs work very well.  Even just cranking jigs in as fast as you can with a pause or two produced for us last time I was down. Swim them and pop them too in current will produce. Tri Olive is usually my best color there followed by sculpin, then white in the early morning. 

I fish a jerk bait fast and short pauses been my best results down there.

 I will be in Cotter Feb. 6-8 next week and hoping for some good weather and fishing. Plan on renting a couple boats from Cotter Trout Dock for a couple of those days. Was told they don't rent boats if the water is low. I will pass along the advice about jigs. If we wade fish it will be with fly rods and if we can rent boats it will be with spinners. Any advice of locations in the area while in a boat, because we have never fished from a boat on the White. We has wade fish at the State Park, Three Chutes, Wildcat and Rim Shoals and below Norfork dam, so I think we should have plenty to choose from if that is what we decide.
