Alex Heitman Posted March 31, 2023 Posted March 31, 2023 Fished from Indian to just past cow today. Only caught 7 all day with 5 keepers. They came on jerkbait and crawler. We were hoping to be rewarded for our efforts in the wind today and we thought they would really bite. Water was gin clear and did not feel like making a run to the stain in the white caps. Overall we were disappointed.
Macsimus Posted March 31, 2023 Posted March 31, 2023 I just saw a boat on the lake here in the Emerald Beach area. We're trying to keep the deck furniture from attacking the house and people are out fishing in this maelstrom. The very definition of hardcore! 😲 Terrierman, grizwilson and dtrs5kprs 3 "There was a time that I didn't fish, but I cannot remember it."
Bill Babler Posted April 1, 2023 Posted April 1, 2023 Buddy fished the White today in that Emerald Beach area. Wind terrible Bite was totally nuts. Said he used a butt seat today for the first time in 5 years. Said he had between 30 and 40 fish with lots of keeps. Mostly Big Fat K’s. He might have had a tip. Wanted me to go but I had a lunch date with the wife and it was just too nasty for me. Terrierman, Carl W, grizwilson and 1 other 4 http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
Bill Babler Posted April 1, 2023 Posted April 1, 2023 Right now and I’ve been out most everyday from Eagle Rock to Spring Branch. Without a doubt the bite is Baxter to Rock Creek, main lake White River for really nice K’s Big Creek to Roaring River in the stained creeks and major pockets for LM, right on the bank. RK 50 Crawler with some orange on it or a WW same pattern. The LM have been fussy on a blade or a jig, but are munching the crank. It’s time get out there if you can. grizwilson, Carl W and Macsimus 3 http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
Alex Heitman Posted April 1, 2023 Author Posted April 1, 2023 Thanks Bill we thought there might be some stain making its way towards Kimberly g but found none. Would like the make it up the white tomorrow but will probably try king creek since it’s closer.
Bill Babler Posted April 1, 2023 Posted April 1, 2023 Those fish are just not up and positioned from Whites Branch to Indian Point yet, and man you’re right that water is absolutely gin clear. I have heard they are chasing small Threadfin Shad in the backs of the creeks. Bite has been on small profile swimmers, from IP to Clevenger Branch Nothing like the upper end however. The stain is funny, kind of splits the lake from point 9 down stream. To about Kennel Branch then it starts to really clear. Alex Heitman Posted April 1, 2023 Author Posted April 1, 2023 I meant long creek. I’m sure there is stain there so we’re going to give it a go tomorrow
Quillback Posted April 1, 2023 Posted April 1, 2023 I didn't even think about going fishing yesterday. You guys are tougher than me. grizwilson, magicwormman and dtrs5kprs 3
dtrs5kprs Posted April 1, 2023 Posted April 1, 2023 We hit 60+ gusts up here in the other KC today. Took shingles off. No bueno. cheesemaster, Terrierman and Quillback 2 1
