Susie and i decided to miss the grandkids softball and baseball game this past week so we figured a stop at Bennet to fish there the first time this year. Fewer cars in the parking lot and more water than we cared to fish or wade so we left out after 10" or so checking out the stream and hatchery work. Saw one person fishing between the dam and bridge and 3 from the bridge downstream. They had signs posted no fishing on the hatchery building side and we saw a few people supposedly working across the bridge on the rearing pools.                                                                                                                                             Looked like Roaring River would be the next option. I called Tim at his fly shop and he said they had good water and he was correct. We got on the stream around 14:00 and fished the upper section of the park. Susie got a spot in the twin falls area and proceeded to put on a show. She was drifting a scud thru the outlet and catching fish constantly. I found some nice fish at the lower end and caught most of my fish  on a bead head fox squirrel nymph. She definitely caught more than I did which is awesome. Got us a room for the night at Roaring River Resort and a pizza from in town and we were good to go.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                              Somebody caught too many fish Thursday and woke up with pain in her right elbow from her "tennis elbow" so I ran to town and got a neoprene strap and now its game on. We fished the C&R Friday and found quite a few fish in the last 200 yards before the bridge where the campground starts. While it was crowded, the fishing was pretty good and I caught a few more than the Mrs. A bead head egg pattern worked the best for the both of us .We did have some nice sized fish and an occasional tuber floating by bu below the bridge was another story. There were 4 adults playing cars with a card table and chairs sitting in the middle of the stream in the early stages of getting drunk. Downstream from them where the first good hole of water started was blocked by a group of 8-9 people sitting at the upper end.  I'm amazed at what people do anymore and how they think this is okay.

Years ago all the swimmers were below zone 3 dam, but now that they have changed all of that around I guess they just go and get in the water wherever they want!
