Went out early to see if I could see any top water striper activity.   I didn't see any right away so started fishing main lake points in HB area with an assortment of lures.    One decent striper (based on splash) surfaced behind my boat so I fired a pencil popper at it and it came up and knocked the lure about a foot or two bit didn't hook up.  Never resurfaced nor  did I see any more .

Moved around a bit and caught a couple on a swimbait but that was it for most of morning.

On way back to ramp, stopped at a mid channel hump and saw radar of stacked fish.  Tried swimbait and war eagle spoon with no love.   Switched to Ned (money color) and that seemed to turn them on.   Ended with 15, mostly spots, couple LM and one 16 in walleye.    All about same size.

Water temp 54-55

Here's a representative photo or two to make this post more interesting!  Lol

In cold to cool water, a Ned is an outstanding walleye bait.

The winter / later fall walleye have been elusive to me since early October.   Still learning the lake patterns but other than one here or there, haven't had much.   But will figure out eventually (maybe) 🤔.

They seem to disappear this time of year.  I don't target them, but I usually don't start picking them up while bass fishing until March or so.

My stubborn brain keeps thinking they have to be somewhere.  But your approach is the right one, catch those that want to be caught, so to speak.   Unfortunately, I have pneumonia so will be off water for a bit which is painful given the weather forecast this week.

Sorry to hear about the pneumonia.  Best wishes for a speedy recovery!

Good to know, you ol' walleye hammer. You've spent a lot of hours learning them for sure!

From now to February (pre-spawn and spawn), look for them south of 412. Jerk baits, especially at dusk, night, and dawn, worked very slowly. Minnow tipped 1/8 to 1/4 white or pink jigs. Neds.

Don't be greedy. 🙂
