gotmuddy Posted December 5, 2023 Posted December 5, 2023 Getting close enough now to talk about the highlight...food! Looks like so far we have 7 people staying in the cabin. @BigHandsRob +1, @fmcbrandon +1, DJ, @Daryk Campbell Sr , and myself. Maybe we will get lucky and get a couple others??(les??)??? Not sure what time The out of towners will be showing up Thursday, I would be fine cooking something if they wanna wait until they get there, or whatever. thoughts? everything in this post is purely opinion and is said to annoy you.
Daryk Campbell Sr Posted December 5, 2023 Posted December 5, 2023 I'm good to bring chili, and fixings. Along with a deep fryer and oil with some fryables. Can pick up more if needed. gotmuddy 1 Money is just ink and paper, worthless until it switches hands, and worthless again until the next transaction. Terrierman Posted December 5, 2023 Posted December 5, 2023 This is Les's famous chili recipe. Worth the effort IMHO I use venison instead of beef. 4 lbs ground beef 1 lb Williams Mild Sausage 1 large yellow onion 2 heaping tablespoons minced garlic 1/3 cup chili powder 3 x 16 oz cans red beans drained and rinsed 2 x 14.5 ox cans diced tomatoes 14 oz beef broth 2 x 4 oz cans green chilis 5 beef boullion cubes 3 tsp garlic powder 3 tsp cumin 1 tsp black pepper Make a big patty out of the meat and cook it on a grill with a rack over a pan. Save the drippings for the chili. Put everything in a big non-reactive dutch oven and smoke it for three or four hours over low to medium heat. Always better to cook a day ahead second day is the best. BilletHead, nomolites, Daryk Campbell Sr and 2 others 5

gotmuddy Posted December 5, 2023 Author Posted December 5, 2023 I made some of the hot link snack sticks witch cheddar cheese again, and vacuum sealed them in packs. I would hate for people to starve while they are out fishing. DJ said he is bringing a cheesecake and some backstrap. I am going to make something cajun one night. I will let yall pick. Jambalaya, Gumbo, or Etouffee. Etouffee is what I made last year. grizwilson and Daryk Campbell Sr 2 everything in this post is purely opinion and is said to annoy you.
