50 or more dead anglers and national news coverage might get the Administration's attention, less than that is just an accident and will be the anglers' fault for being there.

I've seen guys dick around at rebar after the horn sounds......as if they have all the time in the world.    One trip below Buford dam cured me of THAT.    And I wasn't even that far from the bank.

All they had there at the time was a guy standing on the dam with a whistle.

My wife is in charge of Sirens around here they are Tested once a month unless it looks like it could storm.

Tornadoes are strange.  I was watching Radar one time.  Boss come by at 4AM asking what I thought? I told him I thought it was clear,  no more than said that 3 popped up,well maybe we better stay a bit.

I use to be in charge of what was going on as far as weather and I'm still a Chief but I can't do my Job.

Boss called wanting me to pick up a Truck.  My wife told him it wasn't safe me getting it so she got someone else.

Every time  she tests them she is teaching the public to ignore them.

But since you know these things, how many seconds from the time I hear the siren blast until the tornado has hit me? Is the funnel a mile away from the warning site or five miles away? do you know that the funnel will stay active until it reaches the warned area or that it won't change direction?  and what warning does the siren give to the people at the site of the funnel formation?  The "warning" sirens are a waste of taxes and provide nothing but testing jobs.

She sets off Sirens first Wednesday of every month. If one don't go off she has to drive over and see what the  problem is.

I know what you are talking about our Boss set the Sirens off and called us in. It was pretty dramatic Sirens blaring and wind going crazy but we still had to go in and get the office going.

She is also trained Swift Water Rescue and she takes FEMA around after a flood.

She is the most Trained person in the state but she gets less than state minimum wage because she is Federal.

Still the sirens serve no purpose other than her training. If I can hear it, it means no tornado is near me and if it goes off and I can't hear it, it means I'm in the tornado. Both of which should be obvious even to a Fed.

We have "Emergency Responders" around here.   They get brand new vehicles every 3 years, and they drive around like their butt is on fire all the time.   Burn up a tank of gas every single day.   Park right next to the door and never shut their trucks off because.....well there's just no time to START A TRUCK!!!!     To my knowledge they've never saved anyone or anything.

They direct traffic, that's about it.   Aren't even "authorized" to drag dead deer off the roads 🙄 yet they walk into the gas station & restaurants like they should be the most respected members of the community.
