I understand as a guide keeping fish for your clients. But why keep your limit every single time also. Seems counter productive for being a guide. snagged in outlet 3 and mschmls 1 1
Bill Babler Posted February 5 Posted February 5 I’ll give you a quick story about guiding crappie. I just would not do it. Learned the hard way. If your guiding bass catch and release is no problem. 90% of folks don’t eat them anyway. Or even want to for that matter. Crappie on the other hand, those folks have never seen one that they don’t want swimming in Crisco. You don’t produce a limit as a guide you might as well have Skunked. Crappie guided trips aren’t about being out there having fun. It’s about what’s in the ziplock after the trip. Totally different platform. You don’t go home after a guide trip for crappie and tell your buddies how they were great fighters. You don’t say gosh, “that crappie jumped 3 times.” First question from someone is, “Did you get your limit. The answer is yes we did or the guide sucked. We were 2 short of the limit. Never wanted anything to do with that. Never needed the money that bad. snagged in outlet 3 1 http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com

So is Rick telling the client to set his rod down and I’ll get my 15 ? Doubtful. snagged in outlet 3 1

Mitch f Posted February 5 Posted February 5 Seems like not a good place to talk about another guide. Maybe let him speak so all can hear his side of the story. Lvn2Fish 1 "Honor is a man's gift to himself" Rob Roy McGregor

Haha what did I say ? It’s not like I’m saying anything outlandish. He guides and keeps his limit and his clients limits of crappie every time out. It’s not anything crazy man . It’s not illegal . I just find it unethical. I figured that someone would have a little fit when calling out the honorable Lapoint. It happens every single day down there . And I’m not a guide . I just get frustrated when the guides pillage the resource for profit . Daily possession limits are a real thing ya know. I’m sure he can get on the public forum and respond . I would tag him in it if he was still a member. Whats his side of the story going to be 😂 I didn’t fillet all those crappie that I continually post pictures of being filleted …. snagged in outlet 3 and mschmls 2

So keeping more than one limit for yourself daily is not illegal? "Honor is a man's gift to himself" Rob Roy McGregor
Lvn2Fish Posted February 5 Posted February 5 4 minutes ago, Mitch f said: So keeping more than one limit for yourself daily is not illegal? Well don’t quote me on this but I believe that if me and you went fishing and we each caught a limit of fish that I could under the law give you my limit . Once they were off the water . In your freezer the possession limit is X2 your daily limit . Now if me and you were fishing and you suck and you catch 4 crappie and I catch 26 crappie and we keep them all . Then I would in-fact be over my daily possession limit . Although this is pretty much unprovable unless witnessed putting that many in the box. So my main point of contention is that the guides possesion limit is x2 his daily limit . But say 5 days last week he caught a limit for himself . That right there is over the posssion limit by 45 fish . Unless he eats 30 crappie fillets every other night . Hence the question , how many crappie can Rick Lapoint actually eat …. ? snagged in outlet 3 1
