netboy Posted June 26 Posted June 26 Made a trip to Quarry Park the other day and saw they are now charging $5 to park or use the boat ramp. They installed an automated fee collection machine at the entrance to the park. If you have a federal Senior Pass AKA America the beautiful pass, the entrance fee is free. You need to display the pass on your dashboard. Also, there was a new sign at the parking area by the boat ramp that said, "Parking for vehicles with boat trailers only". snagged in outlet 3 1
fishinwrench Posted June 26 Posted June 26 I was going to start charging for parking on my property during the weekends because people always ask to park there when going to the party spot down the road. AND THEN I learned that if I charge them to park I may be legally responsible if their vehicle gets broke into or damaged. So I just gotta let them park there, or gate it off. So...... remember that, if your vehicle ever gets damaged in any way while at Quarry Park. 👍
netboy Posted June 26 Author Posted June 26 Well, I have had the senior pass for the last 16 years, but the $5 entrance fee is still a great deal. That park is immaculate. Restrooms are always clean and everything is perfectly maintained. The park rangers and the park managers are always cruising the area. mikeak and snagged in outlet 3 2

I used to camp (sleep on an air mattress in the back of my Yukon) there all the time. It’s a great spot!
jdmidwest Posted June 27 Posted June 27 Spent many nites at the Quarry Park. One weekend with Tom Hargrove during the fly festival. He was a hoot. That was when my inflatable one man pontoon learned it could handle 2 units on the Norfork and still catch fish. ColdWaterFshr Posted June 27 Posted June 27 Camped there a few times, not bad, but not for me. Y Cabins up the hill about a mile is much more luxurious and accomodating.😆 The boat ramp and parking area is pretty small. No big whoop. $5 is worth it for convenience of the purpose of the place if it keeps cars from parking there.
