ollie Posted November 19 Posted November 19 Well, looks like this is somewhat expected now! Lol Although we missed last year, we will try this year. Same day, same time. See you on Capps the Sunday after Thanksgiving. Get there by 9 and we will meet this time at the lower access parking lot. Just more room to park and get things together down there. If you need more info give me a shout out. Johnsfolly Posted November 19 Posted November 19 Good luck guys. Can't wait to hear about fish caught and see photos😉! Hope that wind is not as much of a factor. ollie 1

ollie Posted November 25 Author Posted November 25 I think it will be tough this year. As in only one or two fish will win. We'll see though, it might be better than I think. trythisonemv and Johnsfolly 2 "you can always beat the keeper, but you can never beat the post" There are only three things in life that are certain : death, taxes, and the wind blowing at Capps Creek!

I think you are probably right. It has been really weak last couple years. Bucket brigade wipes them out ND the resident fish are pretty smart. I always move a big brown in a couple spots though. And there are a few spots where some big rainbows always hide. Hope it's not 19 degrees and bad fishing lol Johnsfolly 1
ollie Posted November 27 Author Posted November 27 BTW, anyone can come to this. Just putting that out there for anyone who has thought about it before and was hesitant to make it. This Sunday at 9 in the morning at the lower end parking lot. We fish till at least noon and then meet back up to see who was the one slaying them this year. At least we hope someone slays them! lol Johnsfolly, snagged in outlet 3, Daryk Campbell Sr and 1 other 3 1 "you can always beat the keeper, but you can never beat the post" There are only three things in life that are certain : death, taxes, and the wind blowing at Capps Creek!
ollie Posted November 30 Author Posted November 30 It will be extremely cold in the morning tomorrow so if you decide to stay home that will be alright. I know Buzz told me he probably won't make it if it is super cold and now I am starting to debate the idea! No, I will be there for at least a little while until I can't handle it anymore! Just not going to be a prime day for it this year I'm afraid. trythisonemv, snagged in outlet 3, Daryk Campbell Sr and 1 other 3 1 "you can always beat the keeper, but you can never beat the post" There are only three things in life that are certain : death, taxes, and the wind blowing at Capps Creek!

Just not going to be a prime day for it this year I'm afraid. One of my best days down there was 22 degrees and snowing. I caught so many fish I couldn't keep count. Thy mustve just dumped them in. It was in November I believe Daryk Campbell Sr and Johnsfolly 2
ollie Posted November 30 Author Posted November 30 Oh, I have done well in the snow and cold too, but I'm afraid there will be clear skies tomorrow with the cold. Not quite the better combination to have. trythisonemv 1 "you can always beat the keeper, but you can never beat the post" There are only three things in life that are certain : death, taxes, and the wind blowing at Capps Creek!
tjm Posted November 30 Posted November 30 But the wind is forecast to be only 2-3mph, and with 30% cloud cover it could be worse. And it's to be above 40F by elevenish. Although based on the number of fish in Hickory Creek and the belief that the two creeks are stocked at the same time, I'm not sure they have even stocked since June. I'll put tackle in the car this evening, but there's no guarantee that I'll be up early enough to make that meeting. I'm usually more of an afternoon/evening/nighttime angler. If I don't get there I'll look for a detailed report on number and size of fish encountered by all.
