February 24-25 Report

Got out yesterday and today for about 4 hours each day.  Lower end.   On the water around 10 both days.  SLOW would be an improvement.  1 bite on a crank and it got off.   Looked to be a small spot.  Threw everything but my wife at them.  Hit my favorite south facing banks.  Got excited with WT 48 but it was bad.   Even found 51 degrees today right up on the bank.  Gorgeous weather though.  PM me for details😆

Looks like it is tough everywhere.  Talked to a buddy that fished the Upper White and he and his wife got three.  (He may have thrown the wife at them).  Glad you saw temps in the 48-51 range, I saw 45 - 47 on Beaver and thought my temp reader must be busted.  I'm really surprised the surface temps are that warm.

High 40’s WT should have them on fire I would think 🤷‍♂️.   Last year I was killing them the end February.

Spring must be around the corner.  I have robins in the yard.  I haven’t seen them in months.

There’s at least 2 dozen around here too.   I checked my notes from last year and the water temperature was 48 and I was catching them shallow on cranks, jigs and the dirt whacky.

A lot of birds flying around the house today, a couple of pairs of woodpeckers chasing each other around, I think they are  either red headed or hairy woodpeckers, but i can't get a good look at them because they keep flying around chasing each other.

My neighbor went out yesterday in the dam area and only had one bite.  A GIANT spot.   His PB.   Full of eggs and hit a crank.   Only bite they got in 5 hours.  I don’t know what is going on.  
 

I looked at my pictures from last year this time and it was a full moon.   We are in a new moon phase this week.  🤷‍♂️

One of my motivations is that this is the time of the year to get a biggun.
