Quillback Posted April 22 Posted April 22 The smallies are biting. Dutch and myself caught 60 today, maybe 4 of them were spots, but the rest smallies. Dutch, once again, had a couple of decent fish that I got to net. One of them looks to b a meanmouth. A lot of 12-15" fish, I think mostly males moving onto the banks. Ned rigs were the best bait, followed by 2.8 Keitechs. Some spots, especially back in Indian have a lot of floating wood. Did see a few stripers early blowing up by the boat. Had one take a swipe at the spook, he did not get it however. WT 60-62 McguirePat, dpitt, snagged in outlet 3 and 6 others 9
BilletHead Posted April 22 Posted April 22 Way to go you two. The famous team of Dutch and Jeff. Serious men having fun. Quillback 1 "We have met the enemy and it is us", Pogo If you compete with your fellow anglers, you become their competitor, If you help them you become their friend" Lefty Kreh " Never display your knowledge, you only share it" Lefty Kreh "Eat more bass and there will be more room for walleye to grow!" BilletHead " One thing in life is for sure. If you are careful you can straddle the barbed wire fence but make one mistake and you will be hurting" BilletHead P.S. "May your fences be short or hope you have long legs" BilletHead
Dutch Posted April 22 Posted April 22 It was my best day on Beaver. I only caught smallmouth today. Jeff had all of the spots and a big old flathead. Our other option was the muddy slop at Cape Fair. Thanks for the guided trip and a memorable day. Johnsfolly 1

Members breeves2245 Posted April 24 Members Posted April 24 Okay, Quillback this has given me sufficient motivation to give it a go tomorrow morning. I'm going to heavily arm myself with a ned and a 2.8 Keitech setup. After a scouting trip with truck only last week, I prefer the drive to Indian Creek Park vs Lost Bridge North or South. Ain't too keen on that curvy 127 road. Looks like light wind and slight chance of rain in the a.m., good enough. I'll start chunking it at first light and ignore the clear water confidence buster. snagged in outlet 3 and Quillback 2

I might see you out there, I'm waiting for the fog to clear and morning traffic to end and head out later this AM. snagged in outlet 3 1
