SplitG2 Posted May 25 Posted May 25 Fished out of Port of Kimberling the 19th through the 22nd. Water temp was 69-70 and tanic in the coves with maybe 2’ of visibility to start the week. Caught 7-9 each day and had to work hard for them. A little of everything. Walking bait early against the bank. Shad spawn was going on but no big schools of fish chasing them. Just ones and twos. Jigs in laydowns and bladed jig shallow after that. Stayed away from the main lake the first few days due to wind. Also threw a big gizzard shad glide bait but not even a follow. The weather broke and I moved to main lake points, ends of coves and bluff ends. Caught them on a wobble head slowly ticking the rocks. Dragging and taking up slack like a c rig. Fish were in 8-9’ consistently. Caught some with ffs on the shallow run outs but had to waste a bunch of time to get any to bite. Switched the glidebait to a pumpkin seed bluegill and had several follows and 2 good fish the last afternoon. Will upload some pics shortly. SupremeJCK, Quillback, Dock-in-it and 2 others 5

Quillback Posted May 26 Posted May 26 I have not had much luck with a bladed jig - how do you fish it?
SplitG2 Posted May 26 Author Posted May 26 I fish it like a shallow spinner bait. I prefer the jackhammer, specifically the stealth shown in the picture with the clear blade. It’s more subtle and starts vibrating immediately on the first crank. crazy4fishin and Quillback 2
