More on the short sighted governmental stockings in VA and the impact now on the Chesapeake Bay.

You'd think the commercial fishermen would be hammering those blue cats.  I don't know how they taste out of the bay, but the ones I have eaten from Grand Lake are the best eating fish I catch.  I'd take them over walleye, crappie, white bass and stripers.  Maybe it is tough to find a market for them.

I do like blue cats.to eat. We keep a few each year. Don't fish for them much though but have gone out on a couple of occasions now trying for gar and cats. I gave away a nice 4-5 lb blue on our last trip since I didn't want to deal with cleaning any. I'll have to remember to post a photo for Pete😉.

Wasn’t there a common eating fish that they changed the name of?   Sea bass maybe?

They've renamed chum salmon to "silver bright" or something like that.  

Tuna cans now have a "wild caught" label.

I know that PETA had a time when they were trying to rebrand catfish as sea kittens🤣
