Travis Swift Posted August 6 Posted August 6 I'm looking for a 9 foot plus spinning rod. Currently looking at the Trout Magnet Trinity Rod. Will use this in place of my fly rod at times for throwing micro jigs or midges etc. I have a couple of 8 footers now that do fine but looking for something a tad longer. Anyone have a suggestion? The Trout Magent rod is $159, are their cheaper options like the wally marshall rod that's okay or better for the money? snagged in outlet 3 1
ollie Posted Thursday at 05:43 PM Posted Thursday at 05:43 PM Years back my dad had a nine footer that he had converted from a fly rod to spinning. That would be another option for you. It did look goofy to me since the reel was all the way on the back of the rod though. snagged in outlet 3 1 "you can always beat the keeper, but you can never beat the post" There are only three things in life that are certain : death, taxes, and the wind blowing at Capps Creek!

When I was a youngster fishing Bennett I used a spinning reel on a 9’ fly rod to dead drift glo balls on 2 pound test. Absolutely deadly with that setup. tjm 1
Travis Swift Posted Thursday at 07:18 PM Author Posted Thursday at 07:18 PM I went ahead and grabbed the trout magnet rod. I enjoy a fly rod but it's not ideal with 3 guys in a 17 foot boat and dealing with a trolling motor as well. This will let me throw all the same baits I usually do without hookin' some ol' boy behind me BilletHead, crazy4fishin, snagged in outlet 3 and 1 other 3 1
