Bill Babler Posted March 22 Posted March 22 Facebook is showing some topwater action up the White. Surface temps at 61 yesterday. Neighbor and I are leaving for Lake of the Pines in Texas Tuesday. Surface temps down there at 68. I’m taking a bunch of topwater junk. TR should be on fire when I get home next week. I will tell you I caught a couple and missed a couple on a Magdraft this last week. They get on that big bait and it’s lights out. dpitt, Quillback, snagged in outlet 3 and 1 other 4 http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com

I sold and our mill made all the pipe piles for the new 155 bridge there. Couple years ago.
Bill Babler Posted March 22 Author Posted March 22 Have you been down to see it? We launch at 155 a lot. Lake is 1.2’ lower than last year at this time. Got to be super careful SLOW. even so, you will hit stuff. Fishing it is worth it as it’s a 5/7 pounder Mecca. We don’t catch a ton of fish a day 15 or so but multiple over 5 pounds. They simply try to take your junk away and hit like freight trains. LOP is really a crappie lake and you don’t see a lot of double digits, and this holds the traffic down as far as bass fishing. Neighbor was at Fork last week and said it was so busy it was unfishable. 12 to 15 boat trains all over the lake. He dropped by LOP and did not see a bass fisherman. We are super pumped. Weather is going to be Purrrfect. nomolites, snagged in outlet 3 and Quillback 3 http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com

I also sold the caissons and the temporary crane platform for the 86 bridge near Long Creek. If you look closely you can see the guys standing next to it for scale. nomolites 1

bferg Posted March 22 Posted March 22 Caught one on Topwater at Big M Friday am. Found a couple of groups of fish bunched up. They were smashing the jerk bait so I didn’t try to force feed them the topwater for long. It’s close. snagged in outlet 3 1
skeeter Posted March 23 Posted March 23 Based on all-day surface feeding I've been seeing out on the Lake by our home, topwater has got to be going strong. It's just the usual question of what to feed them. Astoundingly early for the last third of March and more 80's coming later this week.
