Your fighting aa loosing battle. From what I here The Coirp puts all kinds of restrictions on docks down there. Including the types of material they are built with. I have a old dock dating back to the 50s tit is 2 stall and built with tempered steel. also has cross bracing in he roof and under the water. Plus chains and healy cable to anchor it.to the shore. I understand tyour problem with the boaters. I do not understand your problem with building docks down there to take the abuse.

What is happening to you is to be expected with a lot of super lines. I would stick to the mono and just change a lot more. I 2 spinning reels set up with braid and two set up with Nano Fil. The Nano fill beats the braid easy for casting

We have guy down here with 5 of those exact same engines of a boat. I live her on LOZ near a point and in 25 yers I have seen some really fast cigarette boats. Late week though two guy came by there fishing for crappie in a brand new Jet boat first time out. It was 19ft long V TIN BOAT. The thing a jet propulsion larger and longer than I ever seen He fired it up and was fooling with the adjustment out in front of the dock. He went down to the point and turned upstream. When he put the hammer down that front of the boat never rose a inch the whole thing just came straight up onto of the water and disappeared around a bend about 1 mile up the lake as fast or faster than any Cigarette boat I have ever seen. i

If people are having trouble catching bass they are out of wack with the right time right place and to a lesser extent right way. Bass do not get smarter I am convinced of that. I currently have a 14" bass sitting under the rear walkway on my dock. He has been there for at least two weeks that I am aware of. I Caught him 3 times already. On the same pink Sinco worm. 2 years ago I did something I never done before. I caught a 23' bass 3 times during the June July period within a couple foot of where I caught her the first time on the same type worm and color They do not get smart to lures they just change there ways and to old stuff does not work anymore. Line has nothing to do with catching fish it is what is going on at the end of the line is all that matters. And I am certain they know the line is there as well. Closing the bass fishing for two weeks would be useless Bass spawn at a variety of times covering a month or better. Because some news tells you the temperature of the lake is bass spewing temperature. Means very little. No lake has a connsistent temperature all over. It is he Temperature in the depth and place the bed selection. I know of one verification of bass spawning water close to 15ft on a hump in Clearwater lake in late June I just do not respect people who think they have done something to brag about catching bass off a bed. IT IS VEEY EASY. I think anybody who wants to take bass off the bed, should really feel a bit of same for interfering with mother nature.

I remember taking bass off a bed long time ago and before I could get him off the hook aboard of bluegill were in the bed and about had it clean by the time I released her. Same applies to all these bass fisherman from StL and KC wrench. That come roaring out here. My son caught 3 LM bass last year over 5lbs in a public pond in the ST Louis area walking the bank. That is 1 more than I did down here last season. I am sort of shopping for a home on a small lake up that way. Almost bought one a year or so ago in Hermann.

I do not care about the stocking. If things were in balance there would be no need for stocking. Things are not in balance. As far as the Legislature goes they have power to oversee the Government departments. And will exercise that power in the back halls ,offices and any place else they can have in private for them do the bidding of their financial supporters. So you see the legislature has a lot to do with what you may not think they do. Take a ride to Jeff City sometime and go into the halls in back of the house and senate. Use to be it was always filled with people serving food from locale restaurants paid for by supports and lobbyist who of course are big part of what comes to be it policy or law.

I flat refuse to take a bass off the bed. That is what needs to be addressed. Of course it will not be. You have all these greedy business men who do not care to protect anything but the size of there wallet. In Missouri the legislature is really nothing more Than a bunch of running dogs doing their bidding. After all of the hull a blew about sports fishing that has been pushed by this group that preys on the little guy like leaches with there prices and glorification of what was a simple peaceful sport. What cn you expect.They make a mess out most of our lakes every weekend. I might be down there. Have to check my calendar. But I will not be fishing. I have a good friend doing a weekend gig at Silver Dollar city this weekend are next. I would much rather watch them than The overrunning of what was a fine area.

Ketchup. I am sure you will have a nice day with Wrench. I do not think you will be spending a awful lot of time talking about Air Rifles. Wrench is one of those people who when he fishes he fishes. He puts his whole energy into fishing. I understand that. I have a lot of trouble concentrating when I have someone in the boat with me. The combination of not being able to hear them and yet wanting to be social is about to much to mix with the fishing for me. I am going to try too drive over and see the way in. No way I could get out there and fish for 9 hour anymore.

You better all try to get off the water when there is a threatening storm. A dock is not all that safe a pIace to park your butt. have seen my share of docks picked up and hurled upside down into yards boats and all. Including a multiple stall dock at West side marine. I know of one person who was electrocuted while standing on his dock during a thunder storm. I and a partner took refuge in a 1 stall dock on the Gravois one time when a tornado came through. It is only by the grace of God we survived. The Tornado came right up the lake and went ashore about 100 yrds from us. We hunched down in the boat and could not see anything going on around us because of the blinding rain driven sideways at us. When it pasted there was limbs and other trash all around us the Tornado had taken a very large tree twisted the trump and broke the tree off and deposited it out in a yard right in back of us. I seen a two stall dock with a good sized pleasure boat in one stall and a pontoon in the other and even the ramp turned upside down and thrown in the owners yard. Fact is anytime you go out on the water in foul weather your taking a chance. You would think I know better. BUT I DO NOT. You cannot keep me off the water if its raining. I do not like people getting out and fishing on the dock. It worries me since I cannot be sure who they are or what their intentions are. I will also lay money that if someone gets hurt on there dock I can be held liable. Sure you could put a no trespassing sign on there. Then maybe some resentful fool will just do something because of it.

I respect you BO as a fisherman. But i do not use your jigs Between me and my neighbor we must have close to 12-14 jig molds. So were pretty independent. It also allows me to experiment with weight versus hook sizes etc I enjoy that a lot. I just do not enjoy cleaning plumbers lead from my daughters in laws family business. She has a pile of lead pipe going all the way back to the1800s. That experience of cleaning that stuff can about make you want to maybe buy jigs. Especially when they used some brass in the making of the pipes

If I was you all I would listen closely to what BO is saying here. He is a good gig fisherman I can see that and manufactures therm. So you cannot go wrong

Depends on what direction you are going up the river or down. I have drug 18 Wooden boats over shoals( No Motor) . going down stream. Would never dare try it going up stream. Used to take about 6 men to put one of those old things things on a truck bed.

I have always felt you need too connect the triangle to be success fun The right place means nothing without the other two sides being the right time and the right way. That does not include lure selection either Any given day there are some catching them on one thing snd others on another. It means more like speed of retrieve, rate of fall and those things And it is further compounded by the right time and place being a big variable on any given lake Because there is.Sun,,shade,wind and yes the moon too.

Invite is high and cloudy maybe you need to tip your lure with a salmon egg or crappie candy if that is league. Or a smell spray of some sort.

I cannot tell myself for sure. But if he is loosing his Crankcase cover maybe a touch of viagra in there help it return to some sort of more active piston pumping.

I go long with both the above post Wrench. The sun dictates where I am going to fish. But it sure will not be very deep. If you would PLEASE hurry up and fix that impeller me and the owner feller will be going to that long, in the sun all day bank up your direction. Did his wife come with him? She is one of the top Horseshoe pitcher in the state. She averages near 60% ringers.

I know what your thinking Seth the dark color should color will absorb more sunlight and heat up better. But if the sunlight is not getting through. Then the water below there does not heat up much at all. Maybe I am wrong and it is effecting my fishing. When its this water is this cold and murky I just do not want to go mainly. I know thought that close to the bank on a sunny day I might be able to do well by following the sun. To old to work at it.

I would imagine the whole Gravois and lake down to the dam has been effected. The muddy stuff was caused be a drawdown bringing the mud down the lake. Sometime the back of Indian creek misses out on that But it looks pretty thick this time. Then there are times when thecwater color means nothing. What into not likes thecommbine of cold water and muddy water. Brown water does not heat up even in the shallows from sun
