Members Rwren Posted October 31, 2017 Members Posted October 31, 2017 We caught these on 2 separate floats over the last 2 weeks of October on the Elk River watershed. Very slow bite and lucky to have caught these. MOsmallies, Johnsfolly, Tom Ryan and 2 others 5
MoCarp Posted October 31, 2017 Posted October 31, 2017 October always was a big fish bite on smallmouths....flyrod and live craws always produced my biggest bronze-backs for the season, for some reason spinning gear with the craws was not as productive as the floating flyline combo, perhaps the presentation was more to their liking MONKEYS? what monkeys?
Chief Grey Bear Posted October 31, 2017 Posted October 31, 2017 First pic looks like Linda Griffith's and the second looks like just up around the bend from White Bluff. You didn't give me much to work with on the last one. Nice job on the fish! grizwilson 1 Chief Grey Bear Living is dangerous to your health Owner Ozark Fishing Expeditions Co-Owner, Chief Executive Product Development Team Jerm Werm Executive Pro Staff Team Agnew Executive Pro Staff Paul Dallas Productions Executive Pro Staff Team Heddon, River Division Chief Primary Consultant Missouri Smallmouth Alliance Executive Vice President Ronnie Moore Outdoors

That is an oxymoron if I ever heard of such a thing Blasphemy I say. An unnatural act against nature. I bet you are a carp bait fisherman too? Live bait and smallmouth? tjm Posted October 31, 2017 Posted October 31, 2017 I will fish bait on a fly rod, the long rod is about all I ever use, but bait is a catch and keep tactic, imo, for any fish. One of the things I disagree with in our fisheries management. Greasy B 1
Johnsfolly Posted November 1, 2017 Posted November 1, 2017 Those are awesome river bass! Congrats on your October beauties!

I don't think I have ever gut hooked a bronze back with this method, a lot more to it than first glance would say.its a big fish method, just don't catch many fish under 2 pounds that way..as far as fisheries management well that another thread or 10 soon I'm sure MONKEYS? what monkeys?
