I just glanced at the Regatta on Missouri's Highway Patrol site and see that 142 permits for tournaments were issued for April / May. In the early 70's, I wouldn't see 142 boats on the water in a two month period.

That's one of the benefits of getting old and deaf. I have TWO hearing aids that are still new in the box. Just don't think I really need them yet. My wife is the only person that I have trouble hearing. Must be her weak voice.

That is the reason that I can always put people on fish. I challenge everyone to take me to the worst spot on the lake and you can always catch fish on the ned. It only took me about two years to try it, after one of local pros told me about the ned about 5 years ago. The beauty of the ned is that it will catch fish 365 days a year, not a seasonal deal like so many of our baits. Agreed, some days there are better and more enjoyable ways to catch them. If I was lost in the wilderness and could have one lure to survive on it definitely would be the NED.
