  1. Good report Alex!! Glad you're still catching them during this cold front. I also have struggled finding those whites. In a normal year I can usually find them on the main lake, but not this year.
  2. Thanks Dave, for all your knowledge about the rig and the lures you gave me. I enjoyed finally meeting you and sharing your experiences over breakfast at Ma's. Glad you had a good trip to the Rock despite the weather. Maybe you should stay another week, as the forecast looks pretty good, starting Sat.
  3. Great report Duck!!!!! The perfect day ending with family. You are the man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  4. Good report Dave!! Glad you are catching a few, despite the weather. Hope you can stay long enough to really wack em.
  5. Dave, you are my new hero!!!! Looking at your wart collection makes my sickness look a little better. I have about 70 warts that are pre-rapala. I've sold many on Ebay and if the price keeps climbing, I might sell them all.
  6. Great report!!! Love the photos!!!! Thanks for sharing!!!
  7. Great report and great fish !!! Glad you had a good day!!!
  8. Fished this 7 A.M.- 11 A.M. Bear Den to pt. 15 only managed two legal crappies. Only saw a few caught today............surprised me. Should have been here yesterday.
  9. Great report Phil!!! I like the camera too, and you even have proof that Rolan can catch fish. You have to be a great guide!!!
  10. In a normal year you would still find lots of males guarding eggs or fry in the clear water. This year who knows...................but I think the big girls will be mostly deeper, resting from the spawn. The beauty of the Rock is that in May, you can catch pre-spawn, spawn, and post spawn all at the same time, depending what part of the lake you are fishing. My advice to you, would be to hire Babler or Beck for a day, it will be the best money that you ever spent.
  11. Great job Duck!!!! But aren't you and Ryan supposed to be working????????
  12. Great job Cody! I think you guys beat all the pros yesterday with your 4 fish. What a thrill to have a day like that with your Dad. I know they couldn't use the A rig, I can only imagine what they would bring in if the A rig was legal.
  13. Well done Mike!!!! Outstanding job by a great fisherman and a great guy!! If my memory is right, the last time Mike has done that well on the Rock, was back in 2000. I think he won 2nd place and a boat in a BASS open event. I think Jim Dopp won first, Mike Mc Clelland second, and Stacey King third. They gave away three boats that year and our local boys spanked them all. I think it was the first year after the fish kill and very few LM were weighed in.
  14. I'm with you champ! I better sell my Ranger and take up another sport. I can catch a few fish on the A rig on main lake points, but nothing like that. I guess after fishing this pond for 40 years, it's time to break down and hire a good guide.
  15. Why don't you see if Babler has anything available. I hear that his place is very nice. How far do you wan t to travel each day?
  16. I guess it's time for me to quit making plastic worms and start carving rats. Can you imagine fishing the North country and have a monster Musky take it away from you?
  17. KVD is certainly due to win on the Rock. I've always been surprised at his past performances on the Rock. I know that he is best friends with Stacy King and normally stays with him when he's in town. With help like that you would expect great things. One of these days the conditions will fit his expertise and he'll win one on the Rock. I think the wart will be the deal, with the jerkbait catching a couple of kicker fish.
  18. If you really want a happy wife, wait until the end of the month. Much better weather and warmer water. Might even get some topwater action.
  19. Great report! Those fish seem to get active right before dark.
  20. Good job Ryan!!! To get a check with these guys, you are doing something right.
  21. Thanks for the great info. I think I'll start with Ranger, I didn't realize they would make something for a 14 year old boat.
  22. Very good report! Thank you!
  23. My 2000 Ranger needs some new seat covers, Does anyone have a recommendation for a good upholstery shop in the area? Beautiful sunset on the Rock!
  24. I'm with Babbler on this one!!!! I have several of both the fin and Buckeye wake baits. I love to experiment with several differ baits (just as sick as RPS) and have used both lures against each other. The fin wins every time for me, except in dirty water.
  25. The fish kill was a result of largemouth bass virus(LMBV).............at least that's the answer the experts gave us. It affected many lakes from Missouri to Texas.
