  1. I’ve never fished with the 6’ not the 6’6” so I got nothing. I know a couple of the guys have bought them and do well with them
  2. Epic or insane. I am still MAD at em, but my fishing skills would be so eroded by lack of sleep that it would be pointless for me to try
  3. Some things never change. good looking baits. By the shear volume of them, I assume they are for sale.
  4. The Air Stream is a good tool for the job at a low price. I do not like that BPS is the sole provider as supply is very inconsistent. I like St Croix Rods, but is difficult to buy them with having your hands on them, thw St Croix Premier in 6 foot light is a completely different animal from the 7 foot light. The 6 footer is sensitive enough for Crappie Jig fishing loads and throws well. the 7 footer is kinda floppy and sloppy. Less sensitive. Probably throws better but yuk. My Dad had the 6 footer. I wanted that rod in a 7 foot version, but that’s not what I got.
  5. Now, I want to hit the Osage with worms for eels. How long ago? Time of year? Day or night? I need to catch at least one.
  6. You don’t know what you just started.
  7. You can get a tank with a fitting. You did on next fuel line at gas tank. Hose stays with motor. would that be ok?
  8. That could have been me Except that I am not that relaxed and that I choose to marry. So Long and Thanks for the Fish
  9. Could mean she is older or he has a mean streak? Or perhaps they had kids early and they are no longer as involved
  10. I made a lengthy drive to Fish smallies out of the trout boat. I could have stayed local and punched 100 trout in the face, but I wasn’t feeling it. I ran some scary shallow stuff full of big wood that would have been disastrous to hit. I ended up jamming my jet with rocks and lost a lot of fishing time clearing that. I caught 61 fish and best I can tell 11 species. I had a lot of fish come unbuttoned. Current does that . I had an 18 1/2 Smallie on a crankbait. Ned was underwhelming yesterday. A few on Topwater, but disappointingly few. You guys don’t understand How good John is at Micro fishing. It is a different skill set to spot an individual tiny fish and successfully target them. Current, water clarity, glare, presbyopia, and competing other fish all vex you. I did a little of that thing yesterday and remembered how good at it he is. any how, the 61 fish yesterday puts me over 2000 fish caught for the 10 th year in a row. I still have plenty of time left to get past 3000 and will see how it all ends up, but I’m thinking I will get to 30,000 Fish caught since I startrd keeping a hard count in 2008. “So here’s a poke at you, I hope you choke on it too, you’re gonna lose that smile cos I can see for miles and miles and miles and miles” The Who
  11. It’s very doable as an independent guy. You really don’t gage to put your boat in sketchy places to get bit.Lots of fish. LOTS of fish, might to better to stay up the road and trailer a little bit. If you can afford the lodge / guide route, Go for it.
  12. My Uncle Johnny started a Oilfield Maintainence Company in Buras in the 70’s. He and his wife Billie Ray had a Company provided part time help and serviced Oil Field equipment, eventually my cousin Ricky joined the business too. My uncle was a welder back in the day, but eventually was just the voice of experience. We would stay with them for a few days at a time and fished down there before it was a big thing. I certainly didn’t do as much of it as I would like to have done. yep looking forward to the second half of the BassCat exchange trip. Gonna be Great.
  13. Oh Curt wants to make this personal , well Buddy, I’m headed down there in November if things go right. I’ll show you the bass fishing side of Venice with maybe some salty stuff.
  14. And Largemouth. It’s been almost 40 years since I’ve been there
  15. Give him mad props from me. Attaboy
  16. Sorry about the Leg. A Tough old bird you are.
  17. I’m gonna guess that stung a little bit. I hope you had some pliers to cut that hook.
  18. Such beautiful vistas. Im not sure if I would be too busy fishing to take pictures or too busy taking pictures to fish, but I am sure I would struggle to have to the right mix of fishing and photography. Great Stuff Marty! Jealous, but you two put the work in and deserve the rewards for your efforts. BTW, I think you’re a Hopper Head
  19. They turn into Hummingbird Moths. I’m thinking of growing tomato’s just to have the worms. Honest. I had one on my Pablano, but I think a bird got him.
  20. Fun paint jobs on those little fish. I’m proud of y’all for going the extra mile to catch fish. I bet you COULD micro fish with a fly rod. I mean more than you already have.
  21. “We will not take this road again.” Classic

    Best Excuse

8/4 was HOT and the river was crowded and the wind blew. I fished with Griz for about 3 hours. I caught 36 or $144 dollars worth of trout. Full disclosure, one one the fish was a smallie. I didn’t fish the next day and I could have. I kind of regret that. Staining a deck on the shack.
