  1. That is certainly the preferred bait in Louisiana and Texas.
  2. I always liked Scoundrels better. Sorry Boss. I don't think I have any.

    I feel the Bern!

I don't see securing our border as isolationism. I see pulling back from international intervention ("we can't be the policeman of the world") as leaning towards isolationism.
  4. I completely understand this.
  5. There is no limit to the stupid things I would do if I was 20. This was like 3 weeks ago. I'm 53. And Cajun angler hates on me for being "cold natured".
  6. The 6 foot Medium Medallion bait caster is my creek bait casting rod. Very sweet rod. Love it. I have several bought on sale with tags intact. Does every thing I could ask of it, but the one I'm talking about I bought years ago. I would hope they have no ruined it in the mean time.
  7. Lol, light weight. The one day in January my finger would freeze to the spool after I used it to apply to brakes to a spinning reel cast. I was really confused as to what was happening to me. I would have to purposely pull back with the finger to get the finger off the spool. It eventually warmed up to near freezing and that stopped happening. Kinda a tough day to be out there. Wind gusting to 15 mph made boat control a female dog and chilled me to the bone. I really wanted to make it to 50 fish, but the trout boat floor was getting really slick with ice and I was afraid I was going to fall out of the boat.

He's left of left wing. I suspect he's running as a Dem because it gives him a much better chance of winning. The Socalist brand just ain't what it used to be.
  9. There was no need, but I bought an Air Stream for myself. I played with my Air Stream on a river yesterday and I'm afraid I'll have to quit recommending the Dorber OMT's. The Air Stream throws better and is a little lighter in weight. I also love the Air Stream reel seat. I don't look forward to the Air Stream price going up and up and up, BUT I bet it does.
  10. Braid and nanofil can have issues when it is cold enough for ice to form on your reel.
  11. Tackle Warehouse had that Lucky Craft line on clearance recently.
  12. A 16 inch crappie is a real nice fish. I only have a couple over 15 and None over 16. infisherman did an article about crappie fishing those Mississippi lakes. You should hunt that down before you make that trip. timing is everything and those Giants are rare. They are there, but don't expect it to be easy to catch one.
  13. I've tried several of the braids. I'm probably happiest with Power Pro. As mentioned, Hi-Vis is a plus. Tie on a leader and enjoy being able to see you line easily. Suffix 832 is just fine, but I saw no advantages to it. For me, I don't look at lb break strength, I look at line diameter to make knot tying easier. I'm more comfortable when main line and leader diameter are similar. Lim down to having copolymer on 3 of the 12 or more spinning reels I have going. I'm wondering why I still have it on those reels.
  14. "Kit" ? I was leaning towards the King Pin brackets. I would go front and rear with them. Gonna think about how much height I need in the front and how much setback on the rear one. I can make the 8 footers less expensively. If I decide I needed to go with 12 footers, I think it would be better to go with the King Pin poles. I need to decide if I would use it enough to justify both the expense and the rear bracket being in the way all the time.

I don't doubt that Sen Sanders has real support or that he is hugely popular with folks under 40 years old. What I doubt is that he is equipped for the job. I don't believe he has a basic understanding of economics. You can not tax big business and have that lead to prosperity for the "little guy". Tax those evil corporations that are profitable to the point they aren't profitable and all you do is cost the little guy his job and slow our economy. I think he's even worse on foreign relations. Isolationism is a proven loser. At some point the problems you ignore, come pay you a visit. To me, the popularity of Trump and Sanders shows what a crappy job President Obama has done. Lots and Lots of people are frustrated and think we need a major change. A revolution if you will.
  16. no batters required
  17. Max-Gain Systems.com has parts to make fiberglass rod shallow water anchors.
  18. I understand the concept, but hugging that 250 HP isn't going to easy either. I might better practice this summer
  19. Yep, I added a ladder to the back of the BassCat. It's not easy getting into my boat from the water when I am comfortable doing it. If you add the weight of soaked clothing and the icy grip of hypothermia, it might be impossible without the ladder. I carry towels and spare clothing as well.

    February trip

They are pulling BSL down a foot a day! Holy Smokes! that's a lot of water flying down river.
  21. Sometimes fishing is so random. I've fished Stockton for one extended trip and I've caught multiple walleye out of Googer. Beginner's luck is a good thing.
  22. I had not been on RiverSmallies very long when one of the regulars died of hypothermia/drowning. He was fishing alone and became separated from his boat. Of course, no one will ever know how he ended up in the water, but it was a very firm reminder that accidents happen and can be fatal during the cold water period of the year.
  23. I guess that's ok unless it's "my" princess. I hate it when my QB gets drilled late. For most teams, when the QB goes down, their season goes down. The stupid keep a drive alive penalty when the D lineman hand barely brushes the QB helmet bother me. That's not football. I do think they need to eliminate the D line guy picking up the QB and driving him into the ground with combined weight. Start ejecting guys for hits like that. Immediate ejection and the next four full quarters of play after that.
  24. I was dumping on Talib because of the stupid taunting penalty that he took that kept the drive alive and the facemask penalty where he looked like he was trying to rip the guys head off. I think you can set a tone without being an idiot. He's like a DB version of Suh.
