  1. I looked at the photo BEFORE I saw who posted. I should have known. Nice fish man.
  2. If you're using a 4 inch worm in a farm pond, get yourself some of the Pro series Spider slider heads with the 2/0 hook and never look back.
  3. I feel certain they'll work just fine. I like the Super Spook Je as much as any of the WTD baits.
  4. After some early domestic duties, I plan on hitting it hard. I have a half dozen ideas for how to fish running around in my head. HOPEFULLY, I'll figure something out and catch 50 or so. I plan on it being a catch and release trip UNLESS another >18 inch walleye decides to take a whack at my bait.
  5. I do not believe the smallies have spawned yet. Has anyone had much of a smallie grub bite yet?
  6. I fish 16's and 18's. Mainly 18's. I tied up a couple of hundred (all together) in black, red, blue, purple, rusty, and olive. I always fish them under an indicator. I usually fish them very close to bottom, but not always. If I have fish take it at the end of a drift when the current pushed the midge upwards, I reduce the distance from indicator to fly. I sling the fly upstream and drift as close to dead drift as I can get it. I set the hook anytime the indicator acts the least bit odd.
  7. Very nice!
  8. I'd bet there are still plenty of limits caught, but they might only catch 20 keepers instead of 40 keepers. Crankbait has been the easy choice so far and with wind it should still work, but the leaders aren't gonna die with it. These guys are good. They'll adapt quickly if need be. I might let them have it for another day and chase trout or crappie today instead.
  9. Everything is coming together for them, but I would have LOVED for the corps to have left BSL at 8 foot high. Conditions are changing everyday if not every hour with more fish moving up. I expect another 90 plus limit day tomorrow. Weights might go up by a couple of pounds.
  10. Tarpon 120. but that's no shocking coming from me. I have heard some compliants about the latest Tarpons. Mine in a 2003 model.
  11. That kind of list is designed to get ppl talking. I've fished Ouachita fairly recently and there's no way I think it is the 28th best place to fish in the US. I also think BSL is better than Table Rock, but that's just me. Heck, the way it's been fishing this year Stockton is the best lake in this area.
  12. I check in pretty close to daily IF I have Internet access.
  13. That's a toad. I think I'm going to start releasing all my walleye over 25 inches. If they are in between 18 and 25 inches, they are in trouble.
  14. I caught a 16 inch one last weekend. In Ohio.
  15. I'd caught them in Shoal Creek, Sugar Loaf, and Big Creek. I've heard from a diver he saw sizable schools of them in Sister Creek. I'd like to catch them more often, but I don't try hard enough I guess.
  16. Sure thing FB3. I'll let you know.
  17. I feel sure a google search would get you links to some articles for fishing for them. There's not going to be a bunch of information from area magazines, but I'm sure old Fishing Facts or In isherman magazines would have some details. I MIGHT catch a couple a year. I shopuld be asking you how to do better.
  18. That's a great fish Larry. Cutts are bug eaters. They are suckers for a dry fly when the hatches are on.
  19. How many HP are you looking for Bobber? I've got a little Yammy 4 HP that I got from fishinwrench a few years back that I'd like to sell.
  20. Minimum flow is still a ways off for the White. I'm still not convinced I'll ever see it. So there's still time for considering laws like that. I've been thinking about unintented consequences for the fish once minimum flow takes place. I've never seen the minimum flow number listed as that high (800 CFS ). I think the highest number I've seen as a possibility was 300 CFS which would be enough for me to fish most ofthe river with my little 20 HP jet. The minimum flow numbers have certainly been a moving target.
  21. Basically, I can't catch fish anymore. Water temp main lake was 65 ish and up to 70 plus up the creeks. Water was stained up the creeks, but clearing and not bad in the main lake areas. I fished a pretty full day in a variety of locations and never found any active fish. Backs of the creeks nada. 1/2 way back. Nope. Some of the mid lake coves dragging a grub for smallies. Zero. I did see some decent size cruisers and saw one fish actively defending a bed. I left him alone. Maybe the changing water levels and the early spring has the fish in transition, but I haven't figured it out. NOTE: Oakland is a terrible ramp > 7 foot high. I won't use it again at this level. Launch at your own risk. The courtesy dock is there, but is useless. It is poorly positioned. It might as well be up on the hill.
  22. I'm still trying for my first carp on the fly. I got one on a road runner and one on a four inch grub. They seem to be a little less choosey prespawn.
  23. Nice fish. It isn't very often that I've caught crappieo the fly, but it's a good time for sure. 23 is more than I want to clean in one sitting.
  24. I feel certain you had some doubles. Did you have any triples?
  25. That's a good price. I don't need any at this time, but I'll keep you in mind.
