If you catch trout on Jigs at Taney, you'll be fine on the White. You might need a little while to adjust your game a bit. It is a river. Taney is now a lake they run water through.
Look back at various fishing reports on the White. You should whack em.
Who knew there were so many bass in Mother Russia. No way you caught a big fish on a Ned. The Ned rig is for short fish only.
Lol, It got to over 50 degrees here today, but maybe it was much cooler where you were.
I'm not a big fan of drifting a fly from a boat ANYWHERE. I am hoping to hit that tailwater from a yak using it as a water taxi. It's about to be a multispecies thing as fish move up river in the Spring. I'll happily catch the trout, but I would never go there for the trout as I live less than 20 minuttes away from multiple launches on the Norfork and the White.
Don't feed the troll. If you have people that repeatedly stir the pot and de-rail threads, perhaps you should just add them to your ignore list and maybe EVENTUALLY the troll will move on and play their internet games some other place. It stands to reason that if the same few people are always starting crap that they start crap because they enjoy it. Carry on.
No doubt about that. I have had a boat in the past with two temp gauges and they never read the same. I would watch the one that read high on early spring trips to try and stay positive.
Usually the unit I have now isn't as far off the other reports as it seems to be now. I have an old school glass stream thermometer that I need to bring with me and compare next time out.
I asked the same thing about another lake in the area that has walleye and I was told " a lot earlier than you would think". THis one was in March and the guy I talked to was soaking chubs he had netted up. He had been catching walleye since early Jan, but every year varies.
I think you could prospect now.
Gizzard shad will hit lures. It seems to me to almost always happen during the cold water period of the year. They may be less likely to do it when they have plenty of plankton to feed on. I can remember four different times I have caught gizzard shap on crappie lures. Small jigs and small lipless cranks. Really fast swimmers, but not a lot of strength behind the pull. Skipjack pull a litttle better.
Good catch man. I'm jealous.
snakem that is an excellent area of the lake to be sure. I LOVE that area, but I wish it had a good ramp on the south side of the lake in the HWY 125 area that was protected from high winds. I dont fish there a whole lot because of the restricted access from a travel stand point.
I've got to figure out why I saw 40.7 degree water than warmed to 42.3 degrees instead of the warmer temps others are reporting.
Homeboy had the Rogue working for him.
I have already been accused of hoarding more than once. You understand my motives and I'll sleep well after an additional hundred are at my house UNLESS I decide to order two hundred.
Dave is being modest. His jigs are most excellent. I'm trying to stay out of the way for a little bit and let other folks get some stock, but I will be ordering at least 100.
