  1. Lots of different crawfish species. I'm sure some get less active in cold water, but I've gathered them for bait before when I was having to break the ice to dip them up and they would still swim fast enough to avoid the dip net in water that was in the 30's.
  2. The ribs in a Shawnee would encourage me to fall in the river multiple times a year IF I tried to use it as it comes from factory.
  3. I'm not thinking that I'll be buying any of the TURD's because 8 baits vs 12 baits for the same money. I'm kinda of a stick in the mud I guess. I havent thrown the Fatty Z or the Hula Stiks either. My attempts with the Shadzzz have been fishless when the chopped Zinker was getting devoured. I think I'll just keep it simple and chunk the half zinker and grind out bites.
  4. I will not fish for bass in areas where I can see a widespread shad die off. I head elsewhere. Generally, I had for shallower more off color water. Maybe, that's just me.
  5. Browookie
  6. Lol, hopefully it won't come to that CC.
  7. Look at the hooks carefuly prior to using them. You may have a half dozen or less per 100 that aren't worth using. The LOW cost more than offsets that.
  8. No Sir! The barb on the #2 is small to the point of almost being non existent and the gap seems "funny", but I have and will continue to catch fish just fine on that jighead. I have since gotten a line on some jigheads with #1 matzu sickle and I think it is better than the #2. The Matzu sickle is inexpensive, but very useful hook. It may not be the absolute best on the market, but it ain't junk. IMO. Super Dave feels otherwise.
  9. Get the tiny hook jigheads
  10. The link Phil provided looks very much like what my buddy put in his Shawnee and I'm certain it would work in a Supreme as well.
  11. I use a quality sponge for small amounts of water and a laundry detergent bottle (the short squatty one for like 80 loads or someting) with the top cut out to bail larger amounts of water like when it rains or someone brings a Lab (Lol). I had a friend the cut rubber mats to fit between the runners on a Shawnee and hopefully Terrierman will chime in with his solution.
  12. Richard is selling jigs in a lot more areas than I would have ever guessed. Utan, Montana, California, PNW, Nevada, and the list goes on. There is some lake that has mutanat Cutthoarts. Fish up to 40 pounds. They shake off 7-8 lbers trying to "get to the bigger ones". They are slinging them on flyrods with straight 12 lb leaders. Crap. The standard Zig Jig can't hold up to the pressure they are putting on these brutes. I will do a full opinion piece on the Second Gen Crossfire. I have used my Crossfire for creek smallies including Ned Rigs. I catch fish on it, but it wouldn't be my first choice for a Ned rod, but we will see. I suspect if it does the Zig Jig deal well, it won't be perfect for a Ned. A drop shot rod is a good place to start with the Ned.
  13. I bet it was. Saturday seemed a lot more windy than Sunday AND Sunday had more wind than I wanted, A lot more.
  14. Prototype is in my possession. Richard fished with sone of his peeps. I met him on his way home More intell. A heavy hook Zig Jig is being developed using a steelhead hook. Specialty market for giant trout in lakes.
  15. I took one of my daughters friends out for an afternoon on the White. Sunny, warm, and just the right amount of water. I honestly expected to catch over 100 pretty easily, but that was when I was believing that the wind wasn't going to be bad. Wind really screwed me up today. We fished from noonish to about 5 pm. I launched out of Buffalo City and fished up and down a river a few miles. We fished Brown/Orange and Olive/ Ginger in the 1/8 oz size since I had about 2000 CFS water. I actually kept a few trout for supper tonight. The trout cakes are cooking right now. Going to have that with a salad and Mac and cheese. I finished up with 74 fish to hand. Nothing too big. Maybe got a couple of 15 inch fish. Only one small Brown. Not cutties. No Brookies (shocker right?). The fish were biting just like I expected, but wind made boat control and strike detection very difficult. Saw turtles, mink, Deer, Eagles, and a lama today Newsflash though, Richard Cross is working on a second generation Crossfire rod. Lighter rod and he's considering mini guides as well to reduce weight even more. I'm going to be giving one of the prototypes a test run over the next little while.
  16. Nice fish man. I like catching them as much as I do trout.
  17. I watched my Ned rig falling in clear water with a little current and it had a slow spiral down with some random glides thrown in. It would hit bottom and quiver before falling over or leaning. I can see why it pulls fish in.

Way more bad ones than good ones. I'll never have one.
  19. Heck of a first striper! You might go a while before doing better than that.
  20. If they really cared about the fish, they would let them use a proper rubber net. Leave the penalties in place for those that chose to not use the net.
  21. Sounds great!
  22. All of those fish would be life time firsts for me.
  23. I wouldn't have ever thought paying off a load early would hurt your credit, but I am not in the banking business. Credit reports are not static. They do go up and down. I might try to talk to a bank to see what your score is and how it could be improved. Like I said before, I'm all about being happy where you are and your potential land acquisition was never any of my business.
  24. That's fantastic!
