I met with Brother from another mother Hog Wally to go chase some Smallmouth bass and we ended up with Temperate bass The cold front that passed through on Friday really put the fish deep into cover and gave them lock jaw. That is typical of the Fall as you all probably know the weather seems to reek more havoc on the bite with cold fronts as opposed to the Summer. Oh well any time spent with my good friend is a good deal. We fished some new Swimbaits from Reaction Innovations that seem like they will be a nice little deal. Now I am back home giving spelling bees to my 6 year old....such is the life for this dork. I also threw in a bonus pic of an example of the city fag deer in my yard...They won't even run away while I'm mowing grass with in 20 ft of them. I really need to go buy a new bow.....happy Fall fishing my friends

sweet man!!!!!.....the LM is my home and I love it....are some un slightly things??? sure but, there is so much wildlife and honestly nobody would believe the fish I catch with my buddies so I just keep it quiet......I will say this though the fish on the LM are finicky at best and feed in specific time frames, if you hit it in one of those time frames it will simply blow your mind.

???nobody could be that dense fishing for money????....that's hard to believe

The carnage has officially begun on the middle Meramec. The water has cleared up and the giggers have been held at bay for almost two years because of cloudy water.....now it's game on for anything that swims. The trophy smallies/largemouth/walleye will definitely take a beat down. Oh well it is a Missouri tradition

caught a decent very Black one the other day in a creek I stopped at that looked good my hand is 8.5 inches -
I celebrated my 13th year of marriage to my wife with a quick float trip. I say quick because we dropped our daughter off at school at 8:30am and had to pick her up from the after care program and take her to dance class by 6:00pm. We didn't even get on the water until 11 and we're home by 5:25. I guess I just lucked out as it was one of those Al Agnew sort of days. I caught 43 fish in the time I fished and all were from 14 to 18 inches with only one really small dink....it was nuts!!! I was getting cocky and horsed a definite 20+ Smallie to the canoe and pulled Aaron Martens right out of it's mouth...my bad . My wife got to the point where she refused to take anymore pics and said I was being a dork. It was our Aniversary and I had to pay some attention to her so I quit fishing for the last two miles, which was very painful. I'm really not sure why the fishing was soo good?? As I just didn't expect much with the Bluebird sky and post cold front but I was just absolutely wrong. We enjoyed two bottles of Moet White Star Champagne and the weather was glorious as well the fishing was sick??? Still baffles me....we did run into one other canoe and it turned out one of the guys is a forum member here.I ended up giving them some baits and they seemed very happy :)....the Fall bite is in full swing for me I guess and it was nice to redeem myself after almost cutting my nose off in Hog Wally's boat. Sorry I had many other pics but the site wouldn't allow me to upload them??

One thing for sure after seeing Georgia barely beating Mizzou it's obvious that the loss to Georgia was not some sort of good loss or moral booster because Georgia sucks and was massively over rated. ....Olde Miss could have beat them 80 to 0 if they wanted to. Mizzou has a long way to go to be a good team...they are gonna get trounced by any legit team.

Sweet report and kudos to you bigtime man!!!!! I absolutely enjoy posts like this....great job brother

How do you know they were poaching Brit???? How many anglers caught those fish in what time frame??? Aren't we allowed 5 bass every 24 hours on virtually every drainage in the state??? I think there is a possession limit as well but if yer frying them up you can get right back to it the next day. I know guys that nail their limit every time out in Shannon and Franklin county. They eat em up before their possession limit is illegal and get the minnow trap out and go nail another 5 the next day. Or are you saying these fish were gigged???or taken by some other illegal merhod??? I will say this in my experience in life, guys that lay fish out like that with a car like that in the background are generally compensating for a lack of size somewhere else.

17 bass two guys????pretty typical for Missouri meat hunters but, they could be within the guise of the laws set up by our wonderful MDC and they would know better than anybody about how many bass we should keep. ....so kill em all. Everyone should be allowed to take home a mess a bass fishing with bait....why should we be limited to just Five????I mean if we bought a darn license and yer a true blooded Missourian you should be able keep however many you can catch on some minnows

You can only run a prop on the Meramec safely when the river level is above 5ft at the Valley Park, right now it's at -2...so another 7 feet of water, otherwise you will ether blow your prop or rip your motor off your transom or worse. I run a 19 ft Sea Ark with a 115 there but only when it's a close to flood stage...I see morons all the time doing it when it's low but, they almost always will have damage of some type....you can run down at GW and if you know what yer doing you can catch bass there but after the poop flow from Fenton residents above it for months I just don't like the ppm's of fecal matter Get a jet or paddle or wade

Hahahaha don't worry about it I am an idiot and will have a permanent reminder of how stupid I am. It could have been worse if I would have hit my head on Hog Wally's very solid aluminum console it would have been a BI I think???....or on my Eye but I did had my Costa's on at the time....not sure if it would have helped or not?? It's all good I can take the jokes.

Yes we do....sorry about the gross pics but I just want people to be careful and possibly not wear flips flops hahahaha

Well the only reason for this post is to hopefully make some people be aware at how precarious being out in the water on a boat can be. I have been boating and have owned several boats for 25 years and jump around the rails from front to back all the time but, it can be dangerous. I went fishing for a few with Hog Wally and his awesome friend Matt who is now a great friend of mine on Saturday. Everything was going great the fish were just starting to get going as we were just floating downstream between ripples. Now I was wearing flip flops, which in hindsight may not be the best choice for a boat shoe but, I caught my toe portion of the flip flop on Hog Wally's net as I was on the back deck. When I tried to get my other foot down to not trip I stepped too far forward and came down on open space where his back bench seat is and drops down approximately 12 inches or so which really thru me off and I fell forward with my rod in my hand quite hard striking his pleXi glass wind shield across my nose and face, shattering his wind shield in the process. I broke or ruptured the cartilage in my nose and made a .69 inch deep incision across my nose and darn near cut it off. I was seeing stars for about 5 seconds and wasn't sure what had really happened at first other than the copious amount of blood pouring out of my face. Hog Wally immediately fired up the boat and said we need to go to the hospital fast and his and his friend's reactions startled me as I just thought I had crunched my nose and it was bleeding. We went to the Sullivan BJC hospital and they wanted nothing to do with it and wanted to put me on an abundance for Mercy hospital in St.Louis. My wife is a NP and was on the way to Sullivan....we made the choice of My new blood brother Hog Wally driving my truck and me back to my house to let my wife look at it. She has many doc friends and another family member who is an ENT doc and a surgeon. After we called him he told us to come by his office for a quick meeting and instead of waiting in another ER for hours more than likely, he would zip me back up. Fred took care of what Sullivan ER wanted no part of in 47 minutes. I ended up with 54 stiches with 24 being internal as sliced my left nostril almost off as well but, he did good and I in some pain but, just remember activities on a boat floating on water can be dangerous especially if you are a dork like me.....be careful out there guys and gals.

I went out Yesterday and nailed some nice Hybrids on a Whopper Plopper and the water was beautiful and good clarity.....then today after 2+ inches of rain...well forget about it's blown out!!!!

We heard it here in Des Peres at my office bigtime -
Cool pics :)....I really like the one of the Ascend sitting in the water.....even though I ragged them before your purchase. It is just such a blast to get out and paddle up and down a stream....pure tonic for the soul IMO. Kudos to you for getting out, I sure wish I had some time to get out....my life is just nuts right now. By the way the seat in that ascend looks pretty sweet
