  1. First let me apologize for bringing this thread down. But the individuals that I wish could answer this question are those who can't tell their story. Every few weeks someone ends up dead doing what we do on a regular basis. I want to know if it was just bad luck or a bad decision but many times we don't know.
  2. I have never had to remove a hook from a human (but I know that mentioning this will cause that to happen the next time out). But I have had to remove hooks from a dog's lip. That is when you know that dog trusts you.
  3. What I read in this article is this is a local group who wants this. The Core is uninvolved as yet. I wish this group would lobby the Forest Service to fix Crane Lake Dam, instead.
  4. Yes...and that paddle. It is a Rob Roy solo. It is a hoot to paddle.
  5. I tried to get my canoe in the back of the truck but didn't fit with the teardrop attached. My heart was broken. But the canoe and paddle now have to go on top of the teardrop. Arcadia Valley here we come.
  6. OK -- I classify my cocktails in three categories: Before Dinner Samuel Adams Boston Ale (but you cannot buy it anymore because the shelves are full of flavored beers) Schlaflys Dry-Hopped APA Urban Chestnut Zwickel (the 'W' is a 'V') Vodka martini (The vodka does not matter) Margarita according to Jimmy Buffets recipe (no mix) if I am eating Mexican Bloody Mary with V8 if I am lacking electrolytes With Dinner Dry wine from Missouri (Hermansberger, Cynthianna or Chardonel) One of the beers above if eating barbecue Margaritas with Mexican food After Dinner Dickell 12-year-old bourbon The best single malt I can afford I guess I think a lot about alcohol.
  7. They don't last long on the ground.
  8. I like that idea. If it doesn't work...who would care after the schnapps.
  9. Well I finally got caught up in this thread and I am tired but now I get a chance to get a word in. My property up here on the north edge is full of paw-paw trees. I just can't stand the thought of free food on the ground going to waste. The paw-paws are good but leave an aftertaste. An ice cream store in Edwardsville was selling paw-paw flavored ice cream last year and claimed they used butterscotch to counteract the aftertaste. Has anybody heard of this? And I can't imagine what form the butterscotch is in.
  10. Old Plug, I am assuming you are referring to dogwoods blooming.....
  11. In the eighties my buddy, Rick, had access to his late aunt's 350 acre farm on the Black River out of Mill Springs while it was in probate court. We were talking to Charlie, the cattle farmer next door, and Rick's buddy Kevin (who is not that bright) noticed all of the cattle were laying down and asked "what does that mean?" Charlie grinned and said "It just means they are tired."
  12. RPS, actually my profile picture was taken at Marble Creek and that is a bottle of Bushmills. And an Oliva Serie V cigar.
  13. Mitch and Chief: Stop it and get along! Regarding Bourbon vs. Scotch: I was a scotch drinker but the single malts have priced me out. I liked Oban but there is no way I can justify buying it. I now drink bourbon -- it seems to go better with my pipe smoking. I like Dickell 12 year old -- I think is the best combination of quality and price.
  14. I have seen that a million times and I STILL close my eyes before that snake comes down.
  15. I have to sit on the bottom of my cedar strip solo. I have no issues casting. But I have yet to try a fly rod.
  16. Ok so she said Hillary lied about the video (at least we now have established somebody is lying). But she is implying that caused the killings.
  17. Mitch, Dump out all of the pieces of paper in the honey-Do jar and replace them with pieces of paper that says "Go Fishing."
  18. Mitch, What did Hillary say that was a lie? Here is a post from Politifact that claims there is no evidence: http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/article/2016/feb/09/what-did-hillary-clinton-tell-families-people-who-/ and there are others.
  19. Quillback, We all WANT to believe it is the Democrats who have spent us into debt but the numbers don't support it. Deficit spending started with Reagan and Bush One, Clinton reduced deficit spending with Bush Two it went up and has been going down the last seven and a half years. Sixty seconds on the Google will prove this.
  20. Jerry, this is fun to believe and even more fun to say out loud but that can be said about any group.
  21. YOU POURED BEER ON...THE...GROUND?!
  22. Ham, no the fish. The others might be uglier if they had those scales. It's those scales.....
  23. That is what I am saying.
