I always look forward to the Dove Season Opener each year. I hunt designated dove fields planted with Sunflowers by KDWP. It's an off year when you don't limit out by 8:30 or so. Mojo Dove are the bomb!

$7 a dozen at the local bait shop. Catfish love em almost as much as bluegill.

I’ve never fished Barren Fork. Is it similar to Crane Creek in size and features?

BTW, This was my largest fish on Saturday morning. About 9 or 10”. Caught on a parachute Adam’s cast up stream along a run.

Great advice! They are definitely easily spooked. I need to practice the bow and arrow cast since long casts are difficult when you find that perfect run and the trees are crowding in. 😆

I usually come across a Northern Water Snake while wading in Bennett Spring. While I know them to be harmless, It always gives me pause until I determine what he’s doing and where he’s going.

While down fly fishing a nearby stream Saturday, my brother-in-law, nephew, and I decided to run over to RR and do some fishing while we were in the neighborhood. We were just about ready to call it the day when my nephew decided to try another spot close by. Low and behold the remarkable result! Weighed at the park store, she came in at a whopping 7 lbs 10 oz!
