  3. There is no telling what those idiots in DC will do, lol
  4. Years ago my girl friends brother had snakes like that, pythons, she and i would watch tv with one of them curled up between us, lol. They were a little smaller, only about 4 ft.
  5. Hat, welcome to the site, its a great one! You will find out that the owner, Phil, is a great guy, as every on here will attest to. So, where are you fishing???
  6. Yeap! My son came over to pick up his flyrod, he had it laying out in the garage, it was so dirty i felt sorry for him. I was looking at one of my old rods thinking i would give to him, Don't do that in the bedroom with the fan on, lol. No damage done fan was on low and just a tick, so he gets a better rod and reel than he has now!
  7. Never, never take a flyrod out of the tube in a room with a ceiling fan!
  8. What I cant explain is the levels from 1977 to 1997? Thats got me baffled.
  9. I would be interested in hearing why landowners dislike the MDC. I remember looking into some of their programs years ago. Does anyone on the forums have dealings with the programs they run?
  10. I know what you are talking about one shot, i grew up on the Niangua.
  11. I am still leaning to the timber rattler, but that is just a guess.
  12. It looks like the right pattern for a timber rattler.
  13. The Classic fly rod forum puts the south bend and the heddon at a 6 weight line.
  14. About 10 dollars for the two rings i needed, cheap way to try out the macro photo stuff!
  15. just the 3rd shot, got a lot to learn, lol using a reversed lens on top of a 18 to 55 zoom, not the best but it works
  16. I think i am getting a handle on macro , Flysmallie, its fun!!
  17. That was my experience, I bought e or e plus , the highest rating, and it was used but like new.

    Cicada

    Those are nice!
  21. No, Ness you got it right , better glass is good, but the puter isnt the best way to compare them, lol
  22. Yeah the bottom is sharper, and I like the exposure better. But my eyes arent very good in my old age, so I may be totally wrong on both counts.
  23. Al made the point I left out on lens, a big lens is less important than how close you can get to the bird or animal in the wild. Even a 400 wont work unless you are really close to a bird! And I am talking 20 ft or so. But then there is cropping too, lol, round and round we go!
  24. I been thinking about that 3100 Nick, and i wouldnt mind upgradeing from my d-40 at all!
