  1. Good for you getting your girls out there fishing. I think I know that shopping center. I'm sure the west county types don't like the looks of people fishing a pond.
  2. Curious myself, MT is on my list to try again this year.

  4. You should be fine down that far. I would head towards to the landing for trout. You have the perfect rig to troll some crankbaits. There are some shallow spots but just keep in the channel and take it slow. I wouldn't head to much above fall creek but that would be a pretty good boat ride.
  5. Yeah, we are about to upgrade to a "ninja turtles" rod though.
  6. Got my son out to the farm pond for some fishing on Saturday. The rain and lower temps made it less appealing to my 3 year old than when we talked about going fishing all week. He had a good time and helped reel in some nice fish but we kept the trip short. He liked reeling in the crappie better since they came in easier. I hope to get him out again soon or in the boat when it's nicer out.
  7. Smalliebigs probably knows more about this, but I used to own a very similar boat. As long as it was under 18 ft and 50 horse a lot of stuff is covered by your home owners insurance. I now have a newer boat with a larger outboard so I carry a separate policy. That was through StateFarm so I would definitely call to confirm what is covered and what you want covered.
  8. Right now, the horn goes off at 6:30
  9. I fished above the bridge about 50 yds and it really wasn't too crowded for opening day. Still combat fishing and I had about all I could handle of people by 9:30 am. Air temp was 56 when I left my truck and 38 when I got back. Pretty quick drop for only a few hours. Saw several nice trout caught and everyone seemed to be on their best behavior.
  10. Whats with the dozers? They making some habitat upgrades or just working on the bank?
  11. Sounds like a great tournament, it's awesome to see that many legal browns caught.
  12. Great report, you expending a good turnout for the tournament tomorrow?
  13. Anybody seen these in some of the St. Louis area Sam's? Seems like good gift for my dad who only fishes a few times a year.
  14. Catching fish puts stress on the fish. Maybe we should give up fishing all together and take of photography. Zero mortality.
  15. Jeff Co is about 70/month for water and Sewer, but I'm up stream in Eureka.
  16. Dave Ramsey over Suzy Orman any day. Both at hypocritical at times. Day to day budget and saving from them is good stuff. Their investment ideas get a little sketchy, but that's just me.
  17. Mississippi River, 57lbs on rod and reel.
  18. That's pretty much the same boat I used to have. They are a great first boat that can take a beating. I laugh when someone buys their first boat and it's a brand new something that they destroy the fiberglass or blow up the outboard with in a year or two. Don't overlook the rivers if you are looking for close places to fish.
  19. Those are some nice weights. I'm glad to see someone finally brought in a legal brown. It seems like it had been a few years.
  20. There used to be a goalie on Sundays in Chesterfield's league that wore a GoPro. He would put the game highlights on youtube. I think his team dropped him since I haven't seen him out there in a while.
  21. Interesting, have you towed a buck back? I may be a wuss but I can barely get them in the back of my truck by myself. Congrats on the deer, you had a great season!
  22. You have me curious, how do you get a deer back if you kayaked in?
  23. O2 levels will be fine in January. Great fishing and low pressure if you can handle the cold.
  24. We had a ton of young bucks opening weekend. Our group shot a few does and one buck that probably should have walked. It was a small 8 with a big body. I hope to get after them again on Sunday. I was planning on heading out Saturday but I have no desire to be in a tree stand with 25 mph winds. Good luck in the second weekend if you haven't filled your tags yet.
  25. Great advice! People think bow hunting is a sport they can just pick up with a new bow at the sporting goods store. It takes a lot of time practicing, scouting, and setting up.
