  2. Do not forget the M-14. It wasn't around very long. I used it in 1966 at Ft. Sill.
  3. Happy birthday & thank you for all you do.
  4. Check into selling the wax. My dad had over 50 hives & made more money selling wax than honey. He made a wax melter from black painted glass (solar). Just a thought if you keep adding to your colonies.
  5. How about " short timer " although I spent 23 1/2 years active & reserve.
  6. Our leaders in a few years.
  7. You are right about the best way to cook doves - made my mouth water. Way to go.
  8. Welcome - stay tuned in.
  9. I wondered where my birds went - now I know. Two feeders out and 3 is the most I have seen at one time.
  10. Anyone checked the prices in the produce dept. lately? A pint sized container of cherry tomatoes $3.99 - small bunch of green onions .99 & dried up green beans were on sale for $1.29. Think of the money we are saving. Think how tired I am of eating tomatoes & green beans.
  11. You need to get Chief to do a rain dance for you. Most of the big boys say to plant fall crops the first week in Aug. I wait until the first of Sept.
  12. Fried green tomatoes?

It (the tail grab method ) does not work on the kitten sized ones. I picked one up and was showing it to a girlfriend - right in the eyes. That really hurts.
  21. I resemble that remark... AMEN TO THAT (OLD) STUFF.
  22. I cut the silk end to let the h2o in. Will try your method - do you do that before or after the cooking?
  23. Now that corn is in season here is a fast & easy corn on the cob (roasting ears) tip. Cut the husk off the small end of the ear even with the cob. Soak in the sink for 10 - 15 min. Cool water. Microwave on high for 3 1/2 min. Husk & remove silk. Butter & salt & eat. I am not a big m.w. fan but this one has never failed me.
  24. One quart but there will be room for more cucs the next day.
