Soon the precious will be mine! There are a few that ripened early, we rolled my mom out by thm one day, she spotted one and said "PICK" pointing too it, since she seldom speaks understandable words that was special. We of course picked it, masked it up and put a little sugar on it and she ate it with a huge smile. Soon with some warm weather it is gonna bust wide open.

I have one that I can lock but generally don't unless I am somewhere remote.

I can't count the number of times people have told me about being hot at a ramp parking lot or having some small item taken. I have had trailers disconnected, nothing taken just in hitched or the latch opened. Second nature to check it now.

I hope that most of the things I do will benefit someone's else as well. That means it has served it's purpose for me also.

I actually did watch a little bit of it, lol then dozed off in my big chair. Not sure why but I do not watching them on occasion.

Having the "luxury" of not needing to cut wood, but being able to cut it if you want.to or enjoy it is fabulous. I have found that I have no shortage of people who are willing to take wood that I cut, and lately they have been wanting/willing to come.over and mow or do stuff for me, in this case karma is a very sweet lady who sends over casseroles. I am probably going to need to replace both HVAC units at my house, they are right at 30 yrs old and beginning to be more maintenance heavy and failure prone. The newer units are a lot more efficient, there is always a part of me that wants to do stuff like ground source or solar panels but just haven't made that jump yet.

I say that many fish dont spawn or don't completely spawn. That is fine, in general high water years spawns arw usually good, assuming that big drops.in water level don't happen aND big jumps don't happen at same time. I always use Truman as an example, few lakes seem to go up and down as much as they do but seldom are there missed year classes. I think the population will be fine, I know that during the trap netting it is common to catch low numbers of the newest year classes. In the end all we can do is wait and see. Seldom is it as bad as it seems it will be in terms of spawn and recruitment.

Wow, very nice!

I have eaten them several times,,however I almost never keep them any more, I would take bass fillets over them. They are usually skinny for their size so the fillets are not nice thick ones so the amount of meat seems small. And the taste is not bad, tastes like whatever you season it with, it's the texture that is odd. If you have 3 or 4 of them some will be just fine and one or two will be like a tennis shoe, seems like a completely different fish and I have been able to tell the difference prior to cooking them. Also have only fried them, not tried any other way. I used to collect the otoliths from them when I caught them in creeks, had a wooden box I put them in for absolutely no reason. Wonder where that old box is now? monkey dodo version is they aint baf, but they aint on my short list oven medium long list for fish to eat, and I will eat just about any fish.

I love a good meat sauce, I can and have simply heated it up and put it in a bowl and eaten it like an Italian chili!

I will be the first to admit that I don't wear a mask as often as I should. Grew up welding and many a time at end of day the black nasty gunk I blew ut of my nose would make me think about, hmm that might not be healthy. I do wear them currently when I go into dr appt etc., but the feeling claustrophobia I guess really gets to me when I wear one. And yes a large chunk of the American population simply bristled up and said heck no you can't make me wear one. Where as if say a governor had said OK, I am going to ask you to wear a mask any time you possibly can, I am asking it as a sign or respect and need your help. Then every time you see them they should be wearing one on TV or whatever. You simply cannot legiate something that although a place of business essential has every right to not let you in if they have the mask wear rule posted, at that point it is your option to follow the rules or shop elsewhere.

Several years back after a bad bout of tennis elbow I learned to use lefty bait casters and since have changed all mine to lefty except for maybe one old ambassadeur 4600CB that I keep around. I now prefer it, of course recent developments may make me change back but I use bait casters so seldom anymore I would be better off simply giving most of them away. Gave away a Shimano Curado 201 (dark green ones) and decent rod to a friends kid after he was talking about teaching him to use one, was VERY specific that it was for his son not him! LoL.

Cast Netting.... catching your own bait
MOPanfisher replied to Alaskageek's topic in Pomme De Terre Lake
Later in fall the upper end of the lake is absolutely rotten with shad, even the gulls just swim around eating them. Doesn't help right now though. You can at time get shad below the dam, but it's tough to do when people are fishing there. -
I have some friends that camp in Osceola a fish for Blues, that area is simply a massive supply Depot for blues, eaters and some bigger ones. They generally use noodles though and can certainly pile up the fillets. Truman has been a powerhouse for catfish the last couple years.

That wouldn't be the reason, it would be rhe size. But again I dont know/remember that.
-
The base/core material definoty needs to be more of a clay impermeable type material, if it isn't the dam will never hold up under normal conditions, let alone stress/flood. Also need a way to safely pass water over, though or around. Also I seem to remember that if it is over a certain. Height or size then it becomes part of the national registry of dams and I think the DNR inspects them, not sure on that.

Spray some attractant on the HOA presidents flowers, they will quickly bece more in to the idea of deterring deer. Except for the hail everything is doing OK, maters don't like the cold weather but supposed to warm up soon and they will get going hopefully. Have a strawberry starting to turn and need some warm weather for them. Blackberries are blooming too.

Been a few years but nothing wring with goat meat. Few years ago I had th idea to buy a fat goat and smoke it for a July gathering. Didn't realize that people thought their goats were made of prime rib. Bought most of a pig instead. Goats have gotten extremely popular on small hobby farms in recent years, still can't believe they are worth much but they do. Even have seen references to "goat quality hay" which is kind of like "redneck quality beer".

I sold.one privately met him at the ramp, same reasons. When he had paid he asked if I had any fishing gear, uhh yeah, he said, "me too" want to go fishing.in my new boat with me? We did.

I love cutting wood, but haven't used anything bit propane and electric for years. Getting someone ro cut it on shares is a good idea too. Otherwise use that time to go fishing instead.

Unless it was dirt cheap a flat no on the test drive would send right on down the road. Now say if the seller was willing to give a written guarantee for x number of days I would.consider it. At very least I would want to hear it run, and see compression test on each cylinder. But that is my non trusting nature.

Well that sucks, can't imagine for the life of me why seasonings like dill, pepper or a few others are bad.
-
Deer are the only problem I have had with salting asparagus. They do like it.
-
Baking them is my favorite way to eat them. Always used butter and seasoning though. Can you have seasonal ongs that don't contain salt? Like dill and garlic powder, if so something like that would help.
